Conversion to Matte Black Stealth - Plastidip
I finally have a lighter work schedule that allows me to work on the car and do more testing. This week I told myself that I will be painting 2-3 panels every week until I am done. Or until I get the strength to paint the whole thing in one shot. In the mean time. here are some teaser pics.
I haven't plastidipped anything yet, but will temperature affect it like it does paint? I would assume so. Might want to do more than 1 panel at a time. That fender came out pretty good though.

you realize that all its gonna take is one little lean from someone with a pair of jeans, and your quarter panel is going to scrape and peel.
plasti dip looks great, but is not that durable

If it was cleaned properly it won't peel. It only peels if there is a layer fresh wax underneath. If it's been a couple of washes after waxing it will hold up fine. I have tons of things plastidipped including tools (what it was meant for) that has yet to peel.

First panel was a reference test. Easy for me to figure out what its going to look like depending on how many coats I used. Once I got the right look and texture and paint / each panel in the same way. Hehe, I actually am recording my paint process. The goal is to use time laps. LoL but the beer drinking and socializing at the shop is hurting this effort lol
It's durable, but people fail to clean the surface properly. Its all about the bonding process. Each panel has to be clean and free of contaminants. Most people do a car wash, maybe pass a microfiber and call it a day. You have to make sure the surface is clean. Super clean.

- Love the look.
Wouldn't it be easier just to take the repeater light out instead of taping it up?

Will this be done for the meet on the 7th?
