my left rear is dropped significantly. on the right side, I can put 4 fingers in. but on the left, i can barely put 2.

i can still drive the car, but im afraid it might give out on me. what could be the problem?

i'm thinking the lower side is good and the side you can fit 4 fingers in has a blown strut/shock

I got the car checked and the mechanic said there's no problem at all. The spring compression is ok and the struts are fine.

It's just the left side became lower that the right. Is it normal for a spring to loose some height over time?

Yah it is, mines starting to do it too but its normal, you'll notice it sometimes and other times you wont notice it at all especially depending if your driving on an even road and looking out your rear view mirrow and looking at your spoiler, thats where I notice it. But as long as nothings broken you should be fine. No one notices it on the street anyways.
