Ems

TT,

I want to make the trip up to NJ and have you install and tune the EMS. I hear you guys are the best . I've got some questions for you. The first is kind of stupid so bear with me:
  • What is the benefit of getting the boost selenoid; does it eliminate the need for another boost controller (i.e. is it a boost controller)? And how much do you charge for it?
  • I have also read that the EMS can be used a turbo timer. Is this true?
  • I am also planning to install a walbro fuel pump (because of horse power and higher elevations when car moves to CO). Would I be okay to install it and then drive up to NJ (from MD) without really bad gas mileage or other problems?
  • Most importantly, I must be able to make the switch from the EMS and MAP back to the stock ECU (possibly reflashed) and MAF, for emissions purposes. How involved would this be, and is there anything else that we can do during installation to make the process go smoothly? I heard mention of subharnesses for the IAT sensor and MAP but I am too inexperienced to fully understand this, so I'm not sure if this is a viable option.

And finally, if you could give me a price quote for this I'd appreciate it. If need be I will call during business hours. Help me out here and you've got a customer for life Thanks for your time.

Well i'm not very sure about all of these but I know that you could definetly install the fuel pump and drive up to NJ with no problems. I think i've heard about the EMS being used a turbo timer, i'm not positive tho on that.

Thanks sleet That solves one potential problem for me. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but I'm new to this so I guess you never really know.

Yeah its the sooner the better for fuel pump cause your going to need one eventually so you might as well have one before you "need" one.

I've never heard of the ems being used as a turbo timer.. Putting a fuel pump in wont be a problem. You can switch very easy from ems map to maf .. Takes about 5 min to uninstall the ems. We do not carry any subharness , nor have i heard of anyone making one. Pm me for pricing info .

PM sent. Thanks. I did a search for some info. regarding the turbo timer feature. Apparently it does have a turbo timer feature, but I am not familiar enough with the programming to understand how it works. Here is the link:

Does the AEM EMS offer a timer feature?

I would also appreciate some more info. on the boost selenoid. As it stands I am a little confused as to what it does. Will it act as a boost controller with the EMS?Please let me know what you think. Thanks!
