A disappointing 97 mph trap speed

Went to the track yest and the average I got out of three runs was a disappointing 97 mph average. My car seems to run fine, boost hitting around 21 psi and tapering to around 19 -20 to redline, no jerk or sputtering of any sort, but I couldn't reach the 100 mph mark. I got br turboback exhaust and air filter, avc-r, fuel pump and tt flash. I was hoping at least 105 mph trap speed. What could be my problem?

your readtion time & 60 foot are key in the 1/4. i ran once at Firebird Raceway (maricopa, az) with the yellow 03. r/t was .590 (yuck), & 60 foot was 2.263 (horrible) which gave me a 1/4 time of 14.460 (on 91 octane). now how can a slightly modded evo run almost a second slower than the stock evo's Motor Trend 13.5 sectime? i'm still baffled but i heard Firebird's track sucks.

well I don't practice my launch on the streets, I just went at it without much experience, but I was getting better at the launches. But the 60 foot times are irrelevant to the trap speed though.

Your reaction time has nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time in any way, shape, or form.

Your 2.3 60' sure is going to hurt your time and MPH though. It sounds like you're babying the car and you can't really discern anything from a run like that.

so you're saying that 60ft can affect your mph? I'm not babying the car at the track, I just suck

Thumbs up

you might also need a retune. you would also have to feather launch at around 5000rpm to get the best drag result. i launched at 4000 & got my time with no boost controller, or flash. dragging takes alot of practice & does the most damage to your car. i don't feel comfy with drag myself. i like top speed better.
