Tuned today now CEL

Hey guys,

I was in today for a custom flash and cam install. The car feels great except on the drive home I got a p0171, system too lean code. What do you think is causing this and what is the fix? Can I send the ecu in to be reflashed again?

Normal with cams.

Mine triggers if I idle it too long.

Thanks,

I was ideling when the code appeared. Is there a fix for this aside from changing cams? I wouldn't mind so much except I can't have codes and still pass emmisions.

I'll call the shop tommarow.

Its your rear O2 sensor ... cat delete ? CEL eliminator .. i've seen them trigger it ..
flashing it again , will do nothing. Some cars even with a CE elim sometimes still get it. Your making alot more power now, but i can assure you it has nothing to do with the flash

To update, the light went out the next day and has not been on since, hopefully it stays that way. I don't have a cat but I'm using a mechanical o2 fix .I hope it's the o2 sensor and not the cams or injectors that is setting off the p0171.

My mods are:
Ported TME turbo
Ported exhaust manifold
GSC 272/264 cams
APS turbo back w/ test pipe
apexi induction box and filter
MBC
walbro 255
buschur 680cc injectors

The car made 325whp and 318ft/lbs. Boost response is awesome and the car runs great and pulls very hard. It made a little less power than I expected, but it was 91 degrees that day, and I may have a small boost leak.
to Turbotrix though, they did an awesome job! It feels like a new car.

good luck. Mine started with the cams. But after a few tunes, I really havent seen it since. Of course I have a scanner but my car is too far gone from stock at this point anyway.

Mine did that prior to my tune, then went off then came back after. I also have the anti foul plug fix... I guess it's no longer fixing it. LOL Nevermind.... It all started after I unplugged my MAF because I changed my Tranny fluid... I took the car for a drive without the MAF plugged in and it was spitting and ****ting all over the place, CEL came on and then I just disconnected the battery and drove it for a while and all is well.

give mark and them a call but to be honest you may need to get some bigger injectors

when I had my P0171 it was my 02 sensors. I replaced them and never have seen that code again. Good luck

The rear 02 sensor will not set a po171 code. It only monitors the cat efficiency. The front 02 sensor can set that code though because it controls air/fuel mixture. The front 02 sensor is seeing a too lean condition and therefore setting the code. Whether its a faulty 02 sensor giving an inacurate reading or the car is actually running lean, no one on here could tell you. You would have to just check your car out and see if the mixture is actually off or not.

just to update, the code has not come back after about 300 miles. If I were consistantly running lean, I mean dangerously lean, wouldn't the code remain on until I fixed the condition?
