i would go back to the place who changed your oil and smack the tech in the face with a lead pipe.

and then i would get a legal letter stating that if any damage occurs to your engine that could be related to low engine oil that they would cover all the cost of the damage and have them sign it..

then when i was done with that....i would smack the tech in the face with a lead pipe.................again

if an auto shop can't properly change oil in someone's car (which is the most fundamental basic part of car maintenance), either the shop should pay thousands of dollars for making such a stupid mistake, or they should not be in business at all........................

and i understand mistakes happen....but one has to take responsibility for their actions

I trusted the guy, actually he is the shop owner and has been taking care of my other vehicle for years. So, i think he will take responsibility if something wrong comes out.
my dilemma is can i go ahead continue with alky injection and tune it? im just concern
if bearing or any problem arise due to his fault he might deny and get away from it.

changing your own oil is bar far really simple and will save you money. all u need is some little ramps or a floor jack. jack it up i believe its a 17mm bolt cant remember and all u need is a small oilfilter wrench. take out the drain plug remove the oil filter. get the new filter poor some oil in it screw it back on. put the plug back in and put 4.8qts of oil in it takes 15 mins

What kind of recourse do you have in a situation like this. Man, I feel a great deal of empathy for you.

It only takes about 5-10 minutes to change the Evo oil. All you need is a 17MM boxed end wrench and that is all. Your filter should never be more than hand tight. Just be sure to lube the filter gasket with the new oil and not to over-tighten the filter.

I hope that everything works out for you. If something is wrong, I hope that the shop honors the shoddy maintenance. If they don't, this is probably the best example of a small claims case that I have ever heard of.

Good luck sir!

Good to hear you made it home ok. .. That was my point, like the guy said , you wouldnt of made it 187 miles if the motor was hurt. This is unfortunately not the case , it might take a bit longer to develop rod knock. I hope it doesnt ,, but man you must of drove about 4 miles with absolutely no oil ..in the motor. I thought he should of drained the fresh oil back out left the new plug we gave him out and have it towed to the guy who did the oil change. Its going to be harder now to get some kind of recourse .. Hopefully you will be lucky, and wont have to deal with it.

even better, change to a fumoto valve, then you don't even need the 17mm wrench and it comes out much cleaner and neater.

Would it because the amsoil was in its peak effectiveness and does its job in protecting the bearings?

Today, i will be putting 100+ mi and will see.

My plan now is to wait for any mech. problem bec. the guy would not touch the car unless there is obsevable problem.

I would disagree, main reason i bring my car to the shop is to make sure it is done properly, thinking they are supposedly knowledgeable of their chosen profession if you will.

But unfortunately, some tech. are careless and neglectful.

Should i go ahead install alky injection and tuneit?
What do you guys think?

I will definetely be at evo vs. subaru shootout, and i'd like to run.
