I could understand that perhaps an equal length header might offer some benefit over the stock manifold. This manifold has me stumped. I'm just curious what exactly is this manifold supposed to do?

Whats its suppose to do is make more power then stock while getting rid of the ugly cast stocker. We made this manifold with the Red turbo in mind. We were so impressed with the power they were making we decided to see if this manifold would make anymore power. We were hoping that the long tube runners would help the powerband, especially up top. But when it comes to header design, there are so many different opinions on what works. What looks great on paper doesn't always work when tested on the car. We are going to test this against a stock manifold and see how it does. Then we are going to test it on another car with an aftermaket header on it and see how it performs. If we are happy with the power then we will make more of them. If not then someone will have a bad-*** looking stock replacement manifold.

I know its early to ask this but what price range are we talking about here? I was running a DC sports manifold, we all know the end to that story, but I cant get over the loss of power in the top end I suffered putting the stocker back on even over the cracked to hell header.

Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

We are talking about probably in the $700-$800 range.

Tempting for sure. Any chance of some more detailed pics? When can we expect to see these available? This would be a nice addition to the upper Ic pipe I bought from Wrick

Bryan,

Mark is on the dyno right now with an Evo that we just built. Once that is off I plan to test the Manifold. I will take better pics of the manifold on and off the car and try to upload them tonight. If the testing goes well the manifolds will be ready to ship by early next week if anyone wants one.

I saw the manifold in person. From the look of the material used, runner length and collector I would assume it will pick up mid and top end power. This should also get rid of the surging that is seen on the red with the stock manifold. Cant wait to try this thing out.

We tested the manifold today and found some interesting results. Peak hp was the same, peak tq was up 12ft-lbs. Both HP and Tq were up between 12-20+ whp from 4200-6500rpm. After 6500rpm the HP and TQ were pretty much the same. It looks like there is some hp to be had in the the upper RPM range with some tuning on the tubular manifold but we were just seeing how much it picked up from just bolting the manifold on. Spool was slower by 300rpm with the tubular manifold. The car is a basic bolt on Evo with a red turbo and AEM EMS. The runs were done on pump gas. Here are the pics.

I took a picture of the dyno sheet since I can't get the scanner to work.

I am making another one to be tested on a different set-up. That one should be done next week. I am finishing a few transmission and t-cases and then its back to welding and cutting.
