Heres the answer.Tial sells to consumer at pretty much same price as vendors.PT sells to vendors at a discounted rate.so vendors are pushing pt wastegates because they will make money on them.Of course if one is making money on something its gonna be the best.cheers

actually, we installed a MAP policy when the V60 came out exactly for this reason, we want the distributors to make money, unfortunatly there are some who think making a dollar on a sale is a good idea. the same thing will happen with all aftermarket automotive products - it's the nature of the market

Well, I guess this is going nowhere fast. I am curious if anyone has done any solid testing thus far. I'm speakin of Precision of course. I know Tial has been proven over and over, and they have driven the market to produce better products because of them.. That's why I'm asking if there is evidence that the Precision can perform as well as or better than a Tial. Oh well, it's of no consequence at this point. I'm going with Precision, to try out something new.. No knock on Tial whatsoever. In fact, I recommend or have recommended their products. Their BOV's are the shiznit.. and you hear nothing but good things about their WG's.

PTE should stop ripping off Tials designs and concentrate more on making a bolt on turbine housing for the evo.

An untested, unproven product, that looks just like the TiAL wastegate. To me it's no different than the chinese knockoffs except they're charging a premium. A knock-off is a knock-off...and being an engineer I'd like to think that businesses in the USA would have more respect for intellectual property/creativity

Few things about this thread.Titan comparing these two wastegates is not an unbias review.Titan is sponsored by PTE so of course they are going to favor PTE .Second if your selling Tial 44 for $450 your ripping people off. They go for $350-375.If you have a good design people are going to copy your design like PTE did.PTE turbos have sucked ever since garrett gave them the boot and they started using crappy china stuff.

Even when precision used garrett's center sections and went behind garrett's back to sell big shaft (70+mm turbo's) they had a high failure rate. I should know... I sold precision for quite some time.

TiAL got their start about 10 years or so ago, ripping off Turbonetics Delta Gate design, well ripping off is probably too harsh of a word. But they took, Turbonetics Design and improved (it was really a peice of **** to start with) an made a 38mm WG that was so good that everyone basically forgot about the old Delta Gate (which was 35mm).

Back then Turbonetics was your only option for external WG without going to the more expensive and at that time hard to get HKS and GReddy units.

Everyone knows TiAL makes amazing product. Question will be is the PTE WG and slight improvement over the standard 44mm TiAL gate or will it be a subpar knockoff?

And that seems to be the real question that I feel will be answered in due time. Will the PTE WG compare with Tial? To get defensive without cause, other than over a little competition, seems ridiculous. I hope to put it to the test very soon, then we can talk factual data versus bad mouth ignorance. And for the record, look at most of the records currently held... oh yea, they are PTE turbos.. Wonder why that is, because they are proven. They weren't the best in the beginning, but what is normally.
