Wanted: Test Subject for Walbro 400lph Fuel Pump / Evo 8 & 9

With a few modifications to the stock fuel pump housing we were able to squeeze in a Walbro 400lph pump and retain the stock fuel filter We're looking for someone to put one through its paces, determine power capabilities and monitor for fuel pressure issues that might arise due to the tremendous fuel flow.

Potential test subjects must be willing to rewire the fuel pump and have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with the ability to monitor fuel pressure. We would also prefer for you to be making 600+whp and have the ability to install the pump and obtain test results within a relatively short time frame.

Please PM with details of your vehicle if you're interested and if we feel you're a good fit we can talk pricing, we will certainly make it worth your while!

I would volunteer, but I JUST put a double pumper in my car and need to enjoy driving it for a while

Good luck

were you able to retain the cap and have a seal so there are no fuel leaks?

Already tested one in a 2g and ran out of fuel at about 580 whp on our dyno with e-85. We will be installing one in Brandons Evo 8 tomorrow to see what we can do with that. Brandons car has already ran 10.3@134 with and aeromotive pump but ran out of fuel with that setup at 520 whp.

I will try to post results sometime tomorrow.

Emery, 580 on your dyno is over 600 on dynojet though correct?

I would assume so. The pump works great! It needs to be rewired though for sure!

At 11.3 volts (stock eclipse wiring) we were able to make just about 500 whp

13.5 volts (our rewire kit) bumped the power up a little over 80 whp.

Huge difference!

Thanks for the input sir! It's inevitable that the stock lines, etc. will become the limiting factor at some point with this much fuel flow, 580 on your dyno is still impressive though!

We have seen well over 700 whp with stock feed and return lines on our dyno in an Evo. I think the 2g lines are the same size as well.

Wish I were closer to your shop or access to an AWD dyno.
I think my car is perfect for this test. :\
