New product: STM lightweight bolt in muffler for Evo 8/9

So, You bough a new exhaust and it's louder than you hoped for. We have you covered!

The STM Lightweight Bolt-In Race Muffler for Evo VIII-IX is a double benefit for the performance and driveability of your exhaust. Not only will it help to dampen the sound, but it is super lightweight at only 3.4 pounds and features a true, bolt-in, 3" straight-through design.

- Bolts in place of the factory cat or test pipe
- Weighs less than the stainless test pipe
- Quiets down your aftermarket exhaust
- True 3" straight-through design
- 3.4 pounds
- T6061 Alumunim
- Made in the USA

We've tested this piece and have seen 871 HP and trap speeds up to 167 MPH, so we are quite sure it is not limiting performance!

This bolts in the same place as the factory cat or a test pipe would.

There is a link in the first post that will bring you to our site for more info, pics and pricing.

Thanks

Not sure on the Megan testpipe but our SS pipe weighs in at 3.9 lbs without an o2 bung and thing one weighs in at 3.5 lbs. I have to assume the Megan is a bit heavier.

Hey Em,

This is a fantastic piece! It looks like you have a CAT and it quiets things down a bit.

Just a few questions...

Any clips with it on and off the car for a comparison in sound?

Any dyno results before and after to verify it doesn't rob of any HP?

How much would you say it quiets it? Any dB ratings?

Thanks,

-Bink

Thanks. Hard to really say how much quieter but its quite a bit. I do not have any clips of it yet though.

As far as robbing power goes, My car made 871 whp on our dyno with this muffler on it and did not have any signs of holding it back. I highly doubt its going to change power at all really as its a straight through design.

Nice! Love all the new parts you are releasing!

I'd really like to have a video comparison of a test pipe, the muffler and the resonated test pipe just so we could tell the difference....you know, in all of your free time

I'm assuming the muffler version will make the exhaust quieter than the resonated version?

I will try to test them soon. We are actually looking into a DB meter now.

I am working on making aluminum bungs for them now but at this point it does not. We will probably add the option later down the road. Most catbacks have a bung in them for the rear sensor.
