COBB Tuning AccessPORT V3 At RallySportDirect.com
thinking about buying the v3 today or tomorrow for my 08 evo x. However. i am the second owner of the evo x mr with 30k miles. heavily modded by previos owner with injectors, bov, catback, grimmspeed 3 port, fuel rail, ssp super transmission pump, 500 hp ssp clutch upgrade and upgraded seals, aem meth/water injection, aem inclosed intake. etc.. my question is how supportive is this going to be? im running pretty rich right now, and has gotten as low as 10.2 during a pull. just curious what everyone's thought is on this. and what kind of support is out there? many people that offer theyre knowledge and services? I have a friend with an wrx and he has some guy out of colorado thats tuning with his cobb for free off a subaru forum.
Cobb's website is abundant with proper off the shelf maps that you can use to calibrate the settings in your car. However since your car is modified and running that rich under peak boost, I wouldn't be surprised if their was a pre existing open source tune from the previous owner under conditions catered to their location (octane levels, elevation, etc).
I would contact a local tuner with the proper tools to determine whether or not your car does indeed have a pre-existing tune before acquiring an accessport.
If not then there are instructions via Cobb's website where you can scale back your injectors, load a map with your same injector size etc. I do know that these cars can run rich from the factory as well.
All the best,
Jeff
