You can certainly run them together. Keith Leung runs them together on his FP Red Evo VIII with a stock exhaust. Daniel Cowart, Akash Chhabra, and Daniel Spaulding also run both. The test pipe dump works much like an electric cutout. However the test pipe dump is not electrically activated, it is vacuum activated (like any WG or BOV would be). You simply run a vacuum line to the wastegate as you would with any wastegate. The spring pressure set in the wastegate takes care of the rest.

It's not size difference, it's the sudden contraction in size. Simple fluid mechanics. Still it would be a restriction when you are off boost.

If it was my call, I'd offer two different options. The one that you have now, and one that tapers down to the stock catback size.

A good portion of the exhaust is relieved through the TP dump. Look at the stock catback flange and a traditional 3" 2-bolt flange and there is hardly any difference. I'm willing to respectfully put money on it that if we tested our standard TP with a prototype as you mentioned, there would be no HP difference.

Are you dense? I'm obviously talking about when the valve is closed. Off boost/below opening pressure? Get it?

I'm not dense, are you over analyzing things? It's no mystery a stock exhaust is a restriction, why do people upgrade in the first place? This is an alternative for those who want little to no noise and don't mind keeping the stock exhaust and still be able to make some power on it.

Let's try to stay professional. Thanks!
