I love the exhaust and the sound it makes...but today when it was being put on my Evo 9 the guys who were putting the system on said afterwards that the exhaust has a major leak ( according to them it was significantly big enough to make a difference) underneath the second clamp...they said that Buschur should have made a gasket for this set-up and since they didn't the exhaust will leak until one is put on (how should i fix this "significant gap")....also after the exhaust was put on i noticed the bullet muffler sticked out a good inch or so behind the rear bumper after it was put on....to me that kind of muffler set up looks a little cheap...however i am wondering if anybody else has a similar set up with the tip peaking out an inch or two (and if so, can we fix it)...btw i checked out the tip and its not touchign the bumper at all and fitment by the guys look perfect maybe thats how the exhaust is made to look?!

Thanks again fellazzz....

I think it is supposed to stick out. If you want you could cut out some pipe and reweld it right before the tip. The muffler shop could do that for you.

Call Buschur and complain about the gasket IDK if its an issue or not.

and you teally do want the tip to stick out past the bumper cover; other wise your numper will be black and nasty all of the time.

(and melted if you're using the test pipe)- just got rear ended the other day & the bumper got pushed close to the muffler- definitely some meltage going on.

Yeah they all stick out, and my BR down pipe leaks cause there is no gasket. I should have taken pics since I just had my turbo and everything out. But I didn't.

I had a leak too, found out 3 months later on the hotside/o2 housing install...supposedly they claim that there is no need for a gasket because the fabrication is so smooth- Needless to say, we put a gasket on when I saw what was going on.

no not all of them stick out... Ive seen a few rides with the BR exhaust that where 100% flush with the bumper. Jarrods ride and daves rs I belive are flush with the bumper, along with a few others I seen at the subaru vs mitsu event a few weeks ago. Allthough ive seen a few that did stick out a little to much for my taste, maybe its the way people are installing them.

I have the Buschur w/ Maganflow and mines sticks out and up...was thinking of having the Tip cut and made to be straight.
Mines sticks out more because I have the JDM IX rear - but sits just enough to not burn or smoke out my Bumper @ ALL.

I got mine in the SCCA piping...so it bolts up to the cat like regular...and uses the clamp at/near the muffler.
I don't think mine leaks @ all.
Granted it was the HARDEST exhaust I've ever installed...mainly because the piping was smashed a bit in Transit (pipe was laying on the porch and Muffler in a box) So the edge where it lines w/ the Muffler and the B Pipe up would not slide together. Some serious car pooling to Mineike to have the damn pipe rounded on the end was the only way.

i love the sound of it though...not loud even w/o a cat unless you really get on it.
A buddy may sell me his HKS Carbon Ti for dirt cheap so I may sell mine.

the clamp I just tightened the HELL out of it...only thing i can think is maybe the Clamp is not tight or not RIGHT?

Here is a pic of jarrods exhaust. Notice it appears not to stick out at all, Im guessing there is something going on during the install thats causeing the exhaust's to stick out. Maybe one of the fellas @ buschur can chime in....

just had mine installed 2 weeks ago- i dont think i have any leaks, i didnt when we installed it. im gonna double check for any on monday, because the no gasket thing worries me as well, and it dont hurt to check things out after driving a couple weeks on new mod. edit:just checked how far mine sticks past the bumper- actually,it is flush..... and i have had zero problems with rattling or abnormal noises after the install. love the sound.

you should re- check the install if your hearing anything out of the normal (vibration, rattling etc.)
