Exclamation Slow Boy ????

I have been facing a really big problem with a set of Manley Conrods for my evo, bought at first last year from SBR but unfortunately my engineer found out that those rods were suitable for VR4 engines not 4G63 as i originally ordered.I was given a proposition to send them back to SBR to make a modification on them to fit to my engine with bearings too.Bad from me at first i accepted the proposition and send them back but unfortunately when i had received them back my engineer tried to fit them along with stock bearings and clevaitt bearings but nothing was fit ok and we tried vr4 bearings but nothing also.We needed to make a mod on bearings also but i have had it.The car was a very big project for big horsepower up to 1000hp and we came to a conclusion that we can not RISK this engine any more and i tried contact SBR but nothing or any help now or even an exhange or something.

Now tell me if anyone was in my place what would he do?

Tell SBR to give me 4g63 rods for an evo. Rather than modifying the other ones. Plus, isnt a vr4 a TT v6, wtf does that have to do with a 4g63.

You'll have to just keep calling the main line and try getting ahold of Chris, they get busy considering Chris is about the only one that takes the phone calls. Just keep calling till you get ahold of him, they wont return messages

A Galant VR4 is a 4g63, a 3000gt vr4 is a v6TT.

I have done that but they told me that the quickest way to finish my car on the date i needed them was to modify those because they did not had in stock any conrods for evo cp9a 4g63 engine and i would have to wait for couple of months or so...

Your first mistake was doing business with Slow Boy Racing. Every order I have placed with them has been effed up.
They are known for over promising and under delivering, Period!

They lure ppl into purchasing parts that they know they don't have in stock.

Once, they told me that they had all the parts I inquired about, in stock. I figured I would just drive 2hrs (one way) to pick them up so i could finish my motor that night. The only had one of the 12 parts in stock.

If you paid for them with a credit card, call your card compnay for a charge back and return their parts.

If i new that SBR was this kind i would never have bought anything...Now they do not give a DAM about this problem that was their mistake and do not even answer to my emails...

GVR4 uses the same 6bolt 4G63 motor as the 1G E/T/L. Sell them to a DSMer and buy new ones, but for an EVO this time.
I don't know why he keeps saying for a GVR4 instead of DSM?????

Sorry, I just happened to see this thread today!

I'm a little confused about what's going on here, and the terminology isn't really making it any clearer. Here's what I can tell has gone on:

On 03/16/2006 a set of Manley 6bolt (90-92) Rods were ordered. Apparently, these were the wrong ones. We sent them back to manley, 3-4 months later, and had these narrowed, so that they would fit your application. You would have got them back sometime in September.

Now, 5 months later, your saying they don't fit? You need to use 6Bolt(90-92) bearings with these. Us, and almost every other vendor carry's them. I wouldn't hestiate to put these rods in a motor of my own.

Now, this is 10 months from the original purchase date, and your asking us to exchange them or take them back? I will help you out on the price of a new set of 7Bolt/Evo Rods, but that's the best that I can do for you.

Please, email me directly if you have any other questions, I don't always have a chance to get on the forums every day.

I got the conrods on November from the shop you sent them and gave them to my engineer to ckeck them before closing up all engine and since we were waiting for some parts to finish the car completely, parts which we received this month and finally tried to finish everything up but rods were problem. As for the five months to tell you this you are wrong on 4 December 2006 i had a reply from SBR Inc here in evo forums to my private email answering to my problem and telling me to change bearings which i did but nothing happened.

So,you admit that i have been sold the wrong conrods and i have tried everything to fit them up but nothing and now you are telling me to pay double to wait and get an other pair of rods.... and making exprmnts on a motor project of one year for 1000hp???????
