TBE from Buschur

So my Buschur TBE showed up today. On the way home, all i could think about was, if it was in good condition or not... For some reason, the ups in this area, destroys everything i get, that comes in a package over 40lbs. and i have seen the other threads, where people complained about the packing BR does...

here are the pics.

now, im not that pissed over this, because it can be fixed, but it almost feels like i bought a used tbe. this was the worst.. i have about 4 other good dings in the pipes. and muffler.

this is all the packing that they used...

other than that, the tbe looks good. and im pretty happy with the guys, i called nick up, about a week after i ordered my tbe, and got him to change it to the magnaflow, and he did with no probs. Thanks Nick!!!

i cant wait to install it. might be a while though.. all my parts are going to get installed the same time, then tuned.

thats the problem with the slip fit design... if you impact the edge of the tube it becomes a major PITA to put together. the tube itself doesn't have any strength on point load impacts seen in shipping.

any type of flange be it a regular two bolt, Vband, or even one that uses lead doughnuts can withstand much higher impacts without denting like that.

DP clearance

How well do the BR DP's fit the 9s? Do they clear the oil pan and TC with plenty of room to spare? I currently have a Megan / TTP DP and the clearance is very very tight / slighlty touching either the oil pan or TC. Can someone with a 9 post pictures of the clearance? Thanks

My Magnaflow exhaust came so well packed it could have probably survived being dropped out of a plane. Good packing costs less than replacing damaged parts.

The BR TBEs have always fit the 05/06s, because they come with high quality spacers that you use on the crossbars to allow the DP clearance without touching the bars.

Did BR changed their TBE again? Their web site shows that the cat back is only 2 pieces & your cat back shows that it is in 3 pieces. Great buy though.

Using spacers to have the DP clear the the tie bars is not ideal, a DP that clears the stock tie bars is optimal. Using spacers will cantilever the load over a greater distance. The ends the bar attaches to will actually flex.

My tbe isnt BR, although I would rock one gladly
