Buschur Filter kit

I just installed this over the weekend, and I am going in for a base flash tomorrow, but so far the car runs great.

Anyone looking for an "intake" should really consider this one. My old evo 8 had a K&N Typhoon intake and it ran like total crap. With this intake installed, the car idles perfect and seems to have picked up a few horses, instead of losing up to 20 with the K&N. Hell, the throttle response alone was worth the $80.

You can definately hear it and if you don't like whooshing noises, then stay away. I decided not to remove the old intake bracket, so I just went to lowes and bought a M6 bolt and washer for $1.00 and here is how it looks installed...

oh and have you considered re-using your stock airbox guide to bring more cool air into the filter?

Going in for a base flash tomorrow and yes, I may reinstall the ram air, but it just looks better without it imho. Does anyone know if this improves performance any?

I just recently switched from a k&n drop in to this filter and I've felt a bit of a difference in the higher rpms. Difference i've noted are my wideband reads a bit richer now when I'm in boost but not WOT at low boost levels (5-10 psi) but I'm guessing that's due to increased airflow and the ecu compensating for it. My car was flashed for the K&N btw. Other than that my WOT afr's are the same as before and as stated the car seems to pull harder along with the howling of the turbo now to go with it. Defintely worth the $80 for peace of mind that no oil will mess up my MAF in the future. Good pickup!

I picked up about 3ft/lbs and 4hp with the older style filter. I think I may pick one of these up just for looks alone

i just ordered the buschur intake. Do you not need the $200 pipe kit? i ordered the pipe kit and cone filter for $250.

You got everything you need with the pipe kit and cone filter.... no need to buy the 200 pipe kit seperate! And don't feel like you wasted you money, wait till you install it. You'll enjoy it!
