Kartboy Exhaust Hangers Review

Just a quick little review.

I noticed my exhaust was flopping around a lot when i started the car and people would tell me that there was a bit of movement back and fourth while driving....

So i ordered a set of Kartboy exhaust hangers from lancershop.com and installed them this past weekend.

The pieces seem to be very high quality and fitment was perfect.

Anyway, after installing them........Rock solid.

On startup. tailpipe doesn't move at all and the exhaust seems to be hanging a little higher because the old gromets were worn and stretched.....bottom line, the tailpipe looks perfectly tucked in the bumper cutout and while driving the exhaust doesnt' move.

Just thought i'd share. Very happy. A very good $50 for a minor detail to be smoothed out.

What are the cartboy hangers made of? are they some kind of rubber, or poly?

If they are rubber, I wouldn't use WD-40, I would use white lithium grease as WD-40 will disolve any petrolium based product. In fact, I wouldn't use WD-40 regardless... that stuff stinks.

You can't go wrong with any after market exhaust hanger, they all do great jobs (b/c they are all harder materials than stocker), your result is not surprising. I am just surprised that 05 evo already has muffler movement issue.

They're urethane.

+1 to the original review, too. I've had these on my Ralliart for a couple years now and they're great.

While they stopped my exhaust from rattling, they did pull my exhuast up higher which made my exhaust tip touch the bottom of my bumper. Didn't notice it at first, but next morning there was melted plastic all over my exhaust tip.

I took a torch to the exhaust pipe heating it up then wiping it off quickly with a wet rag. Used 3 different waxes and got the shine back from the exhaust.

I trimmed the bumper and now the exhaust sits about 1cm away from the bumper which is still closer then I'd like.

Any ideas on how to make my exhaust hang about a half inch lower? I was thinking about trimming the hanger to make the whole bigger but didn't want to do that if there was something else I could do to make it lower.
