I ran the Fujistubo DP and same test pipe with the stock exhaust and it fit correctly, the same for the other 3, except COBB that is no excuse. At least they should send me a DP for free.

Right now I'm running the COBB with the 02 sensor removed, use a 3/8 flange as a spacer...but today it rained the exhaust got wet and it started hitting the heatshield...water made it get bent out of shape once it dried off it was ok. What kind of SS did they use never had an exhaust behave like this.

I like the JunBL but Im afraid it will be too loud.

WOW what a story, you should have taken pictures to show the CRAPPY FIT of the exhaust instead of taking wrenches or pliers to it.

If you bought the exhaust from a COBB dealer and not touched it, I am sure that COBB would bend over backwards to make things right, i know first hand.

Even if the fit was CRAPPY, it happens to the best of manufacturers, but from what you described about the fit issues with B&B and Greddy exhausts (regardless of whether you were able to adjust them or not by bending hangers which you shouldnt have to do anyways) it seems like you might have another issue, like CRAPPY angle on the downpipe flange for example.

Anytime you mix and match, replace exhaust or any aftermarket components, you run into potential issues of fit. When COBB was making their exhaust, they were fitting it to a COBB downpipe so chances are that if you used a COBB DP, you would not have had the issue.

ANyhow, my point is that it looks like you jump into conclusions that COBB IS CRAP a bit too fast. Anyhow I will be installing my COBB CBE early next week, mating it to WORKS DP, i will let you know and take pics if you want to know how it went.

After a while I decided to try the Burschur /magnaflow..BEST fitting exhaust ever. It just was a bit loud for my taste and after a year I purchased a B&B.

The B&B bolted right up but it seemed to put the tip to the inside of the cutout, opposite the greddy. I called in and the tech instructed me to bend the middle hanger to get it aligned, it worked. After a year the rear hanger started to rip the muffler open at the weld so I decided to give the COBB a try. WORST mistake I've done...

The COBB fitted like CRAP the tip was jammed against the cutout, looked lke the exhaust was 1/2 short pulling the hangers all the way forward. Based on past experience i decided to try and adjust the middle hanger. I barely applied force with a 17mm craftsman crown wrenc and the freaking hanger BROKE OFF. What kind of crap is this.

I contacted the seller which will remain anonymous since he tried to help me) but COBB DENIED warranty stating I had damaged the part. This is total BS their POS exhaust did not fit. I later learned that the hangers are cold formed and all of them have bending fracture marks.

I had the hanger repaired by a friend who specializes in machining and welding exotic metals. Since I need to get my B&B warrantied (yes lifetime warranty to original buyer, no questions asked if anything breaks) I attempted to install the POS COBB. I used a 3/8 SS flange to add the necesarry clearance but now the rear O2 sensor hits the body...what a piece of crap the bung is welded to HIGH. cantt they get their **** right! Now I'm stuck with a worthless piece of crap.

Buyer Beware!

I don't see why mix and match should be a problem. Lots of people mix and match without a problem. Most everything is designed to fit to the stock mounting points and positions.

hate to hear about bad experience like that.... I have a an AMS TBE with resonated test pipe - great performance and quiet. It sounds like that might be important to you.... I hope the folks at COBB can resolve this issue. Good luck

I had an STi with a Cobb dp and a Blitz Nur Spec V cb... even with the bell fitting, there was a bad air leak... I called Cobb, and they basically said tough luck and they don't guarantee fitment with 'other' vendors....

i bought my Jun BL used from someone on ebay and i love it. it's not too loud & not too soft. I did some research on other exhausts and heard alot of soundclips before i finally decided on it. pretty much, for me it was a tossup between the JunBL & the APS 3.5" Turbo to Tip Race Exhaust . The APS woulda run me about $1,300 & I found the JunBL for waay cheaper.

also, the welds on it look badass so i know it's a good quality product:

and, it's held together with v-band clamps, which holds up to pressure better than regular bolt on pipes, reducing the chance for leaks. (i used to work on turboprop aircraft in the navy & we used v-band clamps on almost all our external metal piping.)

Strange, I've always heard good things about Cobb. I was thinking about picking up an STi (keeping the Evo, of course) and going with Cobb bolt ons, but perhaps I will see what else is out there.

yes, in theory you should be able to match components from other vendors and most of the time it works, with an occasional "muscle" to tuck something in

I have also seen or experienced instances where things either didnt fit or did fit but then in combination with other parts, causes rubbing or hitting (talking specifically of springs and swaybar combos)

just from what this person was describing, they also had to "adjust" their previous catbacks, its just that COBB was not as forgiving thats all

Anywho, here is a link to my COBB CBE install this weekend, mated to WORK 76mm dp and you guessed it, NO PROBLEMS.

Enjoy

I have the B&B and have NO fitment issues what so ever. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone who doesn't like the angled coffee-can look.
Yes, it is on the quiet side (good thing).

My Buschur TBE fitment was top notch. I could not believe how well the tip sat on the bumper and the clearance on the DP.

that is crazy, you know the quality wasn't that good when the hanger broke off like that.

Hmm...how could you come to the conclusion that the Cobb catback's fault for not fitting when you are mixing exhaust parts from other brands? It may be that the parts aren't designed to work together that it doesn't fit. There are other threads out there showing how the cobb fits perfectly while we don't have any proof from you. If you have any evidence please show it since I'm in the market for an exhaust too.
