Ivey to the rescue!
Ivey to the rescue!
Big thanks to Sean, Chris and their team at Ivey Technologies in Linden, NJ!
Back in April I posted a thread looking for help in getting my Aquamist HFS-5 Kit troubleshooted, repaired and car tuned. A local Boston area shop attempted several times to install and tune my car without success.
Sean @ Ivey read my initial post and responded that they would be willing to get the car sorted out and to call their shop to schedule an appt. if I was willing to drive the distance from NH to NJ (just over 300 miles). Normally the distance would have discouraged me from making an appt. with a shop so far away. But after over 11 months and several thousand dollars spent on wasted labor costs I needed to take a drastic step to resolve my problem once and for all.
When I called the shop Chris was very professional and acommodating. After receiving an extremely fair estimate an appt was made to drop off the Evo Monday June 9th. The goal was to stay in a local hotel for a few nights in order to give Sean and his team ample time to diagnosis, repair and tune my Evo.
When I dropped the car off on the 9th I was extremely impressed with the cleaniliness and general appearance of the shop. I felt very comfortable leaving my Evo in their hands. The next morning I received a call from Chris asking a few questions and letting me know that they were still in the process of going through the AquaMist installation and that if they needed to replace any parts they had a spare kit at the shop they would start swapping out parts with if needed. The following morning I arrived at the shop with a 5 gallon can of Methanol and was very pleased to see my car on the dyno. After being greeted by Sean he informed me that my AquaMist kit was fixed and that there was a few wiring mistakes that caused the system to not work properly.
At this point Sean proceeded to start to tune my Evo. I was extremely impressed by the countless number of dyno runs that Sean made to ensure the car was tuned properly. After what seemed to be several hours on the dyno Sean told me that the car was making good power and that he would make some final adjustments after lunch. I returned back to the shop at 4pm to find my car completed and approx $100 below the estimate. I couldn't be happier with the results and the cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would highly recommend Ivey Technologies to anyone regardless of distance.
Base line was 325whp and 305wtq, tune was lean @12.5-1 afr
With 100% meth and Ivey tune 396whp and 373wtq
I am very happy with the 71whp and 68wtq gained, thanks Sean!
