Timeslip? witnesses? It's not that I don't believe you, but 110 mph?

Aint that the truth

Quick question. You're also on the stock tires and wheels...correct? That's one hell of a 60' for the stock tires/wheels.

Better yet maybe a video will suffice.
The same thing happened in 06 with my IX that TURBOTRIX tuned because it was the first one in the 11's and it was on pump, full weight car. So had to post a video for all the naysayers that said the car could not and would not do it. Here is the vid of that run.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...4C75747AED.htm

Will try and find time to go back and get a vid of my X running.

Without seeing any vid I know it can be done with ease if the time is taken to get the tune just right , and it sure looks like you guys did just that Congrats on a nice run now go back and run faster and get a vid

Wow, kinda of has me scratching my head why with parts and a tune I can only manage 109-110 trap speeds which I thought was decent until reading this thread. I'm able to get 1.75-1.80 short times now but to get 1.6x doesn't seem possible with the stock setup. Any tips on getting more traction off the line? What pressure in the tires and what PSI are you launching off the stutter?

I'm assuming you are power shifting and not lifting? I tried this with the lightened flywheel and the engine just revs too fast to be effective, LOL... I wonder if you are really well tuned for the current setup and once you do intake and exhaust upgrades the stock turbo will hold you to 112-113 traps at most? If you can get a snapshot of your timeslip that would be cool.

It's mind boggling that is for sure, nice driving either way!

My Best run for reference:

60' = 1.740
1/8 = 7.952 @ 88.32 mph
1/4 = 12.416 @ 110.51 mph

Your Run:

60' 1.628
330 4.995
1/8 7.828
mph 86.55
1000 10.329
1/4 12.33
mph 110.47

If you swapped in your short time for mine that would get me down to 12.20 range so shifting seems similar and power seems similar, just your 60' on a stock clutch seems out of this world!

The tune has a lot to do with it as does the driver.

I guess I was hoping for some more insight on your success...

Obviosuly you are driving the hell out of the car and it's tuned perfectly, but the other thread you ran this as a best time with only 3 runs to practice. Was it just more seat time driving around town and less gas in the tank that made the difference?

60' 1.837
330 5.265
1/8 8.139@85.95
1000 10.630
1/4 12.728@107.60
Will try to go back tomorrow and see if i can get some more mph out of it. I had 3/4 full tank of gas so lets see what happens with less gas and more seat time. I only made 3 runs with the car.

Most guys i have seen on this forum are running around the same mph with mods where as my car has none besides the ecutek tuning done by Sean Ivey.
Now with 2 more runs at the strip you manage a 1.628 short time which is .21 sec off the line and nets you an expected .40 sec in ET's and the car gained almost 3 mph in the traps to boot, which seems to indicate power shifting. I had a horrible time spinning the stock clutch with those power levels and it never would grab after the first pass. I also can't get any more than 109-110 mph out of my setup even though I've made passes that felt fast as hell bouncing on the 7800 rev limiter just past the traps and still didn't break any records.

I guess my track has lousy traction because first gear never holds the power due to my clutch being so strong now. I'll have to chalk it up as you being a kick **** driver to be able to extract that much out of a car with 5 passes total! If others can duplicate this type of performance with so little done I will be amazed.

well , even if some one runs 12,5 sec still is a great achievement in my book
I'm not a drag racer by any means, so i cant really comment anything others then this.

I also have my rev limiter set to 7800 with the 2 step set to 6000. It buys a few MPH in 4th gear but it's still bouncing just past the traps. I guess the 107-108 trap speeds are what most people would get out of Hova's car without pulling 1.6x short times and lightning shifts at 7800.
