Looking back, I'd say as soon as you have to close the gap on the plugs. I realize now how that drive ability went away, along with the gas mileage, when I closed mine. As far as hp goes, you may not need it until you're blowing out the spark, after you've already closed the gap on your plugs. This is my opinion. I'm sure others have their own.

right now I'm gaped to .19 and I have no misfires but it will only last about 2 months with no problems...then I get a random misfire CEL. Does to COP also help with the random misfires?

This would help you so much...especially with your mods.

^No special plugs needed. Plug gaps vary motor/compression/tune.

There are NO set plug gaps that is optimal for everyone. We've had 600+whp hta35r equipped cars run .030 plug gaps with no sign of misfire in sight. A lot depends on tune, an overly rich mixture will require smaller plug gaps.

We recommend starting with .030 and work your way down from there.
