Racingbrake.com

This thread is for anybody in the market for 2 Piece brake rotors, This is my brothers experience with his C6Z06:

3-4 months ago I purchased 2 piece brake rotors from RACINGBRAKE.COM. At first I thought the rotors looked nice and would perform well. Well my first track day and 5 15-20 min sessions later my rotors had more cracks than a shattered window. This was with Motul Fluid, DTC 70's and ducts.

So after returning from my track day and obviously not satisfied because I do not feel like having a rotor shattering on a $70,000 car. I contacted RACINGBRAKE.COM after remembering about there "100 PERCENT SATISFACTION GUARANTEE" Below is the direct quote from their website

Racingbrake offers complete satisfaction guarantee to you and other Corvette enthusiasts; if you don't agree that they are the best two-piece rotors in value, look and performance your money can buy just return them for a full refund.

At first they gave me the run around about it being normal ETC. Then they said I could send them my pads and rotors and they would determine if their was a defect or I could purchase new rotors rings at a slight discount(500 to 350ish) I realized, what am I doing beating around the bush, these people have a satisfaction guarantee and I wasn't satisfied. Needless to say I told them I wanted my ALL money back and after a few more emails they finally agreed (Minus Shipping Cost)

After a little while longer I started wondering where my money was so I started calling...NO ANSWER??? Day after Day no answer. I finally decided to use a deceive called spoofgaurd where you can enter any phone number you would like to appear on the person your callings caller ID. Wouldn't you know it, I finally got an answer. But the woman would not tell me if anybody was available until I gave her my name to which she replied. "Sorry we are short handed this week, nobody is available."

After a month and a half I finally got an email from them saying they refunded my money MINUS 15 PERCENT STOCKING FEE . I hit the wall, this was the last straw. I sent them an email telling them their website states 100 percent refund and also a screenshot of the email where the gentlemen I was dealing with said "REFUND MINUS SHIPPING"

No reply after 2 days and I call them from a private number and get the gentleman I was dealing with I told him who I was and was inquiring about my 120 dollars they still had. Well he said "sorry sir I am no longer handling your case" to which I replied "let me guess the person who is, isn't available at this moment" Of course I got a "Yes"

IM JUST MAKING EVERYBODY AWARE OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH RACINGBRAKE.COM, TO MAKE SURE NONE OF MY FELLOW CAR ENTHUSIAST HAVE TO DEAL WITH A SITUATION LIKE THIS AFTER GIVING A COMPANY ALMOST 1000 DOLLARS OF THEIR MONEY

P.S. I now have HARDBAR 2 piece rotors on my car and the owner Gary was nothing but polite and courteous with me. Also got me my brakes in almost no time flat.

I have bought from RacingBrake.com in the past and never had an issue. They have always been polite and shipped my orders quickly. I've never tried to make a return, however, so this is good information to have. Thanks for the post. Let us know if you get the remaining money back.

Check the review.

I am using 2-piece RacingBrake rotors and HT-10's with no problems.

I did try using PFZ pads before and ruined the rotors and had to replace.

I'm not baller enough to use their two piece rotors. I have been using their one piece slotted rotors though. I'm on my second set for the front and they started pulsating sooner then I thought they should, I wasn't quite satisfied with how long the first set lasted either, but I only had the stockers to gauge them against. I think I'll try another brand next time around.

i've had no problems with racingbrake. Also don't be so shocked with the restocking fees. You will find this almost everywhere and I don't believe places that say 100% refund.

I had their 2 piece rotors used with Hawk DTC-70 pads. The heat check cracking was quite visible after one track day. The following track day it seemed the pad deposits will fill the spider cracks. It never cracked through but they shuddered like a mother. No amount of re-bedding or resurfacing made them better. I called them and they gave me some pad compatability issues?! Basically they insisted that I used the wrong pad, wrong bedding in process, wrong braking technique, basically accuse the hell out of me.

On another note a friend of mine bought a set for his S2000 at the same time and after 2 track weekends they cracked along the outer edge. They did offer to replace them with 1 piece slotted rotors. Those did not last very long either.

I am now just using blank cryostop rotors. I don't want to break the bank on 2 piece rotors anymore. I just installed AMS' cooling ducts nd with success they have kept my brakes from over heating. I personally did not feel a benefit from weight and cooling by using the 2 piece rotors.

I rather spend the extra 400 bucks on extra blank rotors and brake pads.

Not much is different right now, except for the cuff.

I have used the RacingBrake rotors/pad for years and never had any issues with RB or their products. I have posted about RacingBrake and some of their products in the motorsport section. Pete
