Thumbs down Never purchase 401 graphics carbon fiber vinyl!!!

I bought some 401 graphics carbon fiber vinyl, because in the ad this vinyl has a high gloss appearance and really detailed texture so it looks like real carbon fiber. But when I tried to apply it to the hood I could not, because this thing just wont stretch or deform to go over the curved surface. Tried with heat gun but did not help at all, and the heat just destroyed the color. I checked the material and found this product has a aluminum thin sheet base, not ordinary vinyl. , that is why it wont deform anyway. Money wasted!

Well sometimes we cant trust the ads. This is what the ads said:

"Like real carbon fiber, the pattern changes shades
when viewed from different angles.
Apply to hood, trunk, dashboard, gauges, interior accessories,
gas door lids, glass, cell phones, metal and just about anything else.
We also offer this vinyl on any of our graphics and decals!"

This is BS!

I dont think that thing is cheap. 8 sq ft for $40, is that in anyway a cheap vinyl?

The problem is that thing is not cheap either. I spent $40 to get 8 sq ft.

I dont know the quality of other products from 401. But for this gloss CBF vinyl it just does not work for curved surfaces. I think it can still be applied to totally flat surfaces. But that is just not practical for most of the things on your car.

i would call the makers of the product and complain how their product is faulty... they might refund you or send you another one free of charge. give it a try

thanks for the heads up
