TSCOMPTUNED 2.0L Shortblock

Recently had Tom at TSCOMPTUNED build me a new short block as my last one had all sorts of issues. Tom has been building lots of engines and working with Tom in the past, he is very meticulous with everything he does so I decided to go with him for my new block.

This engine consists of
Standard 4G63 2.0L
Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff I-beam rods with ARP 625+ bolts
OEM crank

I shipped him a used virgin 2.0 block that I had purchased locally as well as my existing crank and rods. I purchased the bearings, pistons, and everything else through Tom (great deals on these parts also). He told me he took a good amount of time to make sure the existing block was in spec and did not have any issues. Tom was also able to find a lot of issues with my old engine just by looking at the old bearings I sent him and rods which were apparently never side clearanced. Good communication on it's progress as well.

2-3 weeks later the block was built and on its way to through a freight company he uses. They met me at home and wheeled it right up to the garage for me.

After a few minutes of idling (I wanted it to idle for 20 minutes but had an ignition issue) I decided to check the compression. 185 across all four. That is awesome for an engine that is not broken in yet. Not a single poof of smoke and the catch can was pretty dry after driving 40 miles.

I'll update compression results once motor is fully broken in and tuned (i'm willing to bet over 200psi). The engine runs really quiet also. It doesn't sound like a loosely built 'tractor' engine I've heard from some other Evo's.

Motor runs flawless. I have 500 miles on it or so. Never saw any smoke and she loves boost

I'll get a compression test next time I swap out my plugs now that it's fully broken in.

Sorry for late update.

I have 1,500 miles on it now. Compression is 195 across the board. It hasn't consumed a single drop of oil and is also making 750hp. Car trapped 145mph on a 6262 at 34lbs, 5 times in a row mostly hot lapping. It is also very quiet like my stock engine was. I've heard other peoples built motors sound like tractor engines when colder.
