How much do the Mitsu ground wires cost that they offer at the dealerships? I won a set at a meet and they are just gathering dust in my garage.

What was that PT Barnum said?

A DIY kit will work the same as the $100 HKS kit**. And if you are good, you can make it look good, too.

**To find hidden meaning, substitute "work the same as" with "not do anything, just like."

Check out super streets website!!!! An old turbo talon gained like 6hp, and 11tq or something close to that after they played with different ground points

Do you actually believe anything that Stupid Street "reports?"

"One of our largest advertizers gave us this part that costs them $10 to make, but they charge $100 for it. Hmmmm...and 20 more advertizers make the exact same part. Let me think...would they be happy if we said it was a load of crap?"

I found that chick get naked faster if you have a grounding kit.

Anybody want to hear some 'grounded' electronics?

ok, ok, ok ... putting the puns aside ... I've just had to go through a through design review for some space electronics. We've only got in this case a couple hundred kilos of metal mass to ground against (called the spacecraft) and electronics about 10x more sensitive that we have to measure / fire off than an EVOs electronics system. The concept we employ to make sure all of the different device 'grounds' are all tied together is a very highly designed point on the spacecraft called a "star ground." That means the grounding straps that come from our electronics boards, the motors, the drive stuff, and the sense stuff all come to a central location on the spacecraft, and then that location is kept from forming a lot of 'oxides' that many not let mr. electron get to 'ground' and throw off a reading / make more noise. Yes we can oxidise stuff in space. There's not a lot of O2 up there (or we'd all be up there) but what little there is, its highly entergetic and likes to make oxides out of metal fairly quickly.

What does that mean in the car world? Most of the time the car body (chassis and motor block) is considered ground. So for the most part if you get a good strap to connector to chassis connection you've done about 98% of the work. When you're sold a 'grounding' kit, they try to get a 'star' ground type connection like in the spacecraft. It helps, but I've found that with modern sensing technology and good drive electronics (ie your knock sensors and o2 sensor to say the least, and the coil drivers) you really don't "need" a grounding kit / star ground on a car / the EVO. If anything ... make sure your ground wires are tight / not developing rust, and you're halfway there.

Good Luck,

jcnel.

They've been tested before (with voltmeters) to hold a more constant, higher voltage.

Uh, if you could define how holding "a more constant, higher voltage" refers to grounding?

Thanks,

jcnel.
