XEDE installed, question
XEDE installed, question
Do you guys ever get like a hiccup or anything from your car after having the XEDE installed? I was told this is probably the ECU from the XEDE map and switching back and forth in between stock and the XEDE. I had an SAFCII before this, but never noticed any type of stutter or anything before. This weekend was the first time it had done it, but hasnt done it anymore. No CEL or anything just a little hiccup the other night.
No. That problem sounds much more like a aftermarket blow off valve or intercooler. Since installing my AMS intercooler, I notice a very faint increase in off-throttle hiccup. I know you don't have a stock intake, so it could be that as well.

Did you dyno the AMS? Any gains?
(sorry about the hi-jack)
Mine "hiccups" when I'm cruising at partial throttle at around 3K rpm and let off the gas (esp. in 5th gear). Has done it ever since installing the XEDE ... to remedy the problem, I've learned to be gentler with my foot

thats exactly what mine did. The exact same.
Very interesting... Mine does the exact same at 3000rpm at part throttle...the hicups u guys have is a misfire. mine threw a CEL only once and doesn't now. it's usually a constant misfire around 3000rpm.
I thought i was the only one with this problem but that does not seem to be the case now.
Do you both have Xede Flash? I just have the Xede, Xede Flash and Turbo back. I wonder if it's the flash causing this misfire issue. Waiting for Shiv to return to figure out the issue.
I'm lost as we've put in a new Xede and drove w/o Xede to trouble shoot and it misfired (or Hiccup) so now i can only think it's probably the reflash.

Anyone having firmware version 1.7.14 (see diagnostic menu in xmap) can adjust the load bypass below which the XEDE goes completely pass through. Those with this firmware version are automatically set to 5% so that the XEDE isn't completely invisible during cruise conditions. Any hiccuping that you are experiencing is going to be caused by something else. With older firmware versions, the MAF signal isn't replicated as smoothly as we wanted so engine smoothness at ultra low loads (nearly engine braking) was compromised. XEDEs have been shipping with 1.7.14 for quite some time. If you need an upgrade, just send it in.

Shiv - Thanks for replying. I think i have the most up to date version so I might be back at square 1. I just thought it was interesting to see some other ppl experiencing the same problem which now turns out may have been due to something else (ie BOV). Anyway, thanks the help. I'm going to take this offline and talk to you when you get back. Enjoy your trip.
