Stage 1+ EVO

Has anyone anywhere passed an emmisions test with Stage 1+. I mean why would people mod their daily driver to where it wouldn't pass emissions. When you did your test how did they do an AWD car? Here in Texas it is one set of wheel sits on a roller and they load test your emissions.

Thanks

You may want to temporarily adjust your cams from the -3/-3 setting to something like -4int/0exh to remove some valve overlap. This should make the car idle much better, which should in turn give better burn efficiency at idle and part throttle operation, where emissions are tested.

Now, I am not subject to emissions testing and I make no guarantees. This is only a suggestion based upon my personal conclusions.

Here in Texas the emmisions test is done through the OBDII port, if readiness is set you pass...in other words 96 up (OBDII) don't require the sniffer test

blah, in CA they're trying to introduce [and I think it has already passed] a full on dyno emission test.

Weres that? The cost of a 4wd dyno that can handle fineky center diffs is quite an expenditure! Run rate the currend smog station dyno costs by 4+!

It's happening already in British Columbia Canada.

i've heard of guys with stage one + passing.....

Here in CA we revert to Two Speed Idle testing on AWD cars....which makes it alot easier to pass....as long as u can nail the visual part of the test....and u keep ur Cat. converter, the car should pass.

Oh okay, for front wheel and rear wheel drive the dyno is implemented, but since there is a lack of all wheel drive dyno's i guess we're excluded.

I'm moving to San Antonio and people there have told me they don't do emissions. Damnit. Unless Houston and Dallas are different.

Oh and you mentioned having your cams at -3/-3, I was told to do -2/-2.

It's done on a County basis. In the counties surrounding Houston there is no emission testing. San Antonio is one of the lucky cities.
