stage 1++ maps anyone?

Hey all,

since I just purchased a 10.5 housing and a helix O2 housing, I figured I would ask if anyone has maps they are willing to share for this set-up. Custom tuning is virtually impossible in Houston and everywhere else is just too far for me right now. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my mod list if it helps:

Vishnu Std. turbo back exhaust
K&N stock replacement filter
Cam gears (-2,-2)
264/272 HKS cams
Walbro fuel pump
Xede, of course.

I do have a good custom 1+ map if anyone needs that.
Thanks in advance,

Sigfrid

All you will need to do is turn the boost down a tad....
Custom maps are really not do-able on different cars over the internet

1++ tuning

Hey Andrew, I know I need to drive to your place to resolve all my issues. I plan on coming early 2005 as I will be going to Nashville (figured it's not that far off). Anyway, today it's like 32 F outside and my car is running NICE. With this weather, I managed to get 1.58 bars of boost (spike) and about 1.35 by redline. This is what I should be getting all the time. Usually, I get 1.45 spike and 1.19 by redline. I figured with the hotside in, I may not need to turn the boost down as my car seems to have lost boost pressure after the cam change. In stock form, I hit 1.62 spike and kept it to 1.4 by redline.....Weird isn't it? Anyway, I am just worried about my maps being a bit too close for the hotside as I got a Shiv custom tune 1+ map from an evom member and went to a dyno here ofr aditional tuning from a person that has limited experience with the Xede.He eaked out 5 more HP but saud that was the most he could do without the car pulling timing. Do you think I am better off loading the standard map back for safety purposes? Sorry this is so long and thanks,

No ...as soon as you install the hotside the boost will jump up to around 25 or so PSI (or 1.7 bar) this is a little too high without correcting timing /fueling etc... if the guy at the dyno you took it to said he could not get any more without it pulling timing it means that with the additional boost the hotside will give will put your car into a state I would not recommend
Be safe ....turn the boost tables down until you can get it on a dyno to see what is going on
Regards

Advise

As always Andrew, thanks for your advise. I will load the standard stage 1+ map and turn the boost down as you mentioned. This way, it will be slightly richer and the timing will be slightly retarded relative to what I have now. I can't wait (financially I can) for an opportunity to strap it down and get it tuned.

Any Houston Xede tuners?

I am still looking for a solution to my upgrades.

Can we buy maps form Vishnu for a stage 1++?
Any Houston tuners that have experience with the Xede?
Any safe maps out there somewhere?

I installed the hotside and the O2 housing this week-end. Again, I was expecting more from this than I got. On my first try, I could not tell the difference. I guess my butt dyno is VERY numb. Oh well. I hope the proper tuning can make the car safe and perform better above 5500 rpm. I appreciate any help I can get.

you could buy a wideband o2 logger and do some minor tuning yourself until shiv makes it back to texas. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=zeitronix

Shiv to Texas

This is unfortunately too expensive for me right now and I would not know where to start to tune my own car. I would most likely blow it up (but make good power doing so). Anyway, thanks. Is Shiv planning a trip to Texas this year?

Unhappy Come on, any suggestions?

I would appreciate a little help from Texas evo members or from Vishnu. Again, if I could drive up to Pleasanton, I would do so. I could also drive to Atlanta, but other than these extremes, what can I do? From the looks of the replies, I guess I am on my own..?
