Shiv, or anyone..cold weather Xede help?

Hey Shiv, ...I just received my Xede today for my 2003 Evo with stage 0+ 93octane map. It is awesome. I'm sure you are busy, but I'm having some boost cut sometimes in 3rd and 4th gear. Its pretty cold here....what would be the best approach to correcting this? For some reason it only spike's sometimes. I don't think I have a boost leak or anything. I looked at the hose connections and everything seems to be in place.

I did adjust the value between 3500 and 4500 down alittle in hopes of it helping...its seemed like it helped some, but I'm afraid of turning it down too much and basically defeating the purpose of having the performance map in the first place.

Would it be better to just select the whole table and decrease the entire map until it seems stable? I just don't want to mess anything up....plus boost cut is pretty violent...i'd like to avoid that..lol. Thanks in advance...help from anyone would be great.

Just keep lowering it in the 3500-4500rpm range until it gets below 22psi. The boost map is pretty safe to mess with since you can't really hurt the car unless you put 100's in every column. But even then without the XEDEflash all you would get is boost cut. Usually, pressing "<" three times will lower your boost by 1 psi.

Yeah Evoland keep those comments up and you will be Evo-banned. UTEC is so superior because you say so. Both basically in the same league IMO. Don't know why you are so xede biased but mine has done the job just fine. Guy is hitting fuel cut and you blame it on the piggyback. What a gURU!!!!!

Well I just took it out and dropped some more boost off...it seemed like it was doing better...then hit the boost cut again at a higher RPM.....the CEL came on...is this something to worry about? I think it is just for an overboost CEL...so i unhooked the ECU to hopefully reset it. Not sure what code it threw

Talking

you guys need to chill, I'm just messin around! The xede is not a bad piggy-back ems, it is one of the best, but I do believe the Utec is superior as an EMS. I have just had a lot problems with Vishnu and their work, like installs of parts, horrible customer service, and a few tuning practices. Either way I was just jokin so relax and know I'm part of the team.

Hey sorry you had some problems with the Vishnu SDC tuning and company. I can honestly say I have not experienced one problem with Shiv et al. when it comes to any of the tasks that you mentioned above. OUT!

Alright...well great, but that still doesn't answer my question and the whole reason I even started this thread. I was simply asking for suggestions and what to do to compensate for cold weather. Shiv, is the suggestion about lowering boost between 3500-4500 a good place to start? It seems like i'ms hitting boost cut closer to 5000

Boost cut does suck. If you can live without your car for a few days, I'd send the ECU in to have boost cut raised (XEDEflash).

Hey KillaSweep...the CEL you threw would have been an overboost one as you said
to get the most from your purchase you really need the Xedeflash.

This is probably a stupid question, but say i do get the XedeFlash....it raises the boost cut, but will it be safe to run that kind of boost with only stage 0+ level mods and the stock fuel pump? I just don't want to lean it out and blow something up or something you know? I guess i;m just asking a lot of questions so I do the right thing
