What Do You Think?

well here is my situation....

03 evo with the floowing mods

Atp 3071r turbo kit
3" turboback with test pipe (off raod)
hallman pro MBC
cone air filter
Tomei BOV
grounding kit
and a Custom dyno flash tune(tuned for CAT BACK AND MBC)

i have not istalled
Aem Ems with wide band o2 and map sensor
750cc injectors

here's my issue i really dont want to mess with changing the head studs for higher boost or cams. is there anyway that i can get close to 400 whp..im considering the alky kit and a retune im not sure i want to use the ems on my car
i dont feeel like tunning it all the time. i want the most out of a pretty much basic setup..

i drive my car daily, but i dont beat it up every chance i get also.
any input would be great

You are aware you are in the Vishnu section right?

Did you mean to post this in the Dynoflash forums, or did you want to hear "Drop the cone filter and MBC for an Xede" comments ad nauseum?

Then maybe add some cams and cam gears plus those injectors you have to reach the hp goal you have.

After that, contact any of the vendors who reflash and ask them if they have an off the shelf map that might work, or contact a local tuner to custom flash you. This will solve your "not wanting to tune all the time" problem.

Head studs are cheap insurance so just get them.

Hi, I was wondering what questions you had. If its for the terms of reliability or the use of methanol I think both are fine considering the tuning and especially how the tuner decides to make power. If he relies on increased cylinder pressures or the like then you would probably want to consider headstuds. About the stand alone, you couldnt get me to run one (been there) but everyone is different. So I guess you really are relying on your tuner or perhaps yourself to insure the health of your car.
You will not be afforded the varience that you have now (using dynoflash tuned for different mods) your crutching on the factory ECUs ability to make vast corrections, you wont have that luxury with the stand alone

You still have the stock injectors? Probably not a good idea. From the sound of your original post, I'd highly recommend you stay away from a full stand alone EMS. You simply don't need it. The headstuds are not a big deal at all. Around 200 bucks total including install. In your shoes, I'd buy Evotexas' SAFC2 off him for a steal , get some cams and cam gears, and go over to Tuning Technolgies in Colton and have them tune it up.

The Xede route would be preferable for a couple of reasons, but would end up costing closer to $1300 after tuning compared to the the $600 for the SAFC option.

well i already have the ems but i can get rid of that no biggie i can afford the xede.

as far as cams i had a bad deal with the last vehicle with drivability.. also changing head studs the best would be to change the head gaskets also right?

i do agree the factory ecu has great built in things that help and that's what i like.
i have heard very good things about Vishnu and would feel comfortable having them tune my car.

he only other reason i dont like the cam idea is for smog reasons having to swap back to stock.
