Well Smogbreath came to the rescue and drove the WRX kiddies back to their ride and they gave me a flashlight to inspect the car.Thanx guys!Especially Smoggy for coming to our rescue. Hope Evowife forgives me and you. So upon inspection it was very apparent that all that untuned boost definitely blew something and in fact it did. Blew an intake hose connector clean off with the upgraded clamps. For all you Shiv haters sorry this is not bad news so go somewhere else. I guess for now my injecters are sufficient. JKJK Where is my stupid flashlight?

u f ucking scared the $hit out of me.

Az3ar, your running an ATP kit correct? Since you have a bigger turbo, what intake are you running, and is the compressor inlet 3" or 4", whats the stock inlet size?

Stock intake the turbo comes with 2.5" and a small adapter is supplied by ATP (fits perfect) I think the stock turbo is no more than 2"

sorry

My intercooler connection at the throttle body blew off twice yesterday. It was very exciting. This was the first time it has ever blown off in 17,000 miles.

I think the stock turbo's intake portion is 2" and tapers out to 2.25". Only reason I know this is because my mystery 16g came with a cold side with an intake portion that was 2", when I opened up the box it came in I immediately knew something didn't look right.

Treynor has too many toys and they are all still faster than me. Maybe though.

How do you think I felt when it happened. All this talk about injecter duty cycles going on in the So Cal forums and boom. BTW It has been raining for several days out here and I think that played a major role.

I would have paid $100,000 for see a still of your grill when it happened . I bet you were thinking about how many plates of sheit you were going to fork down.

I am glad that your "pop off" valve kept your head in check

I E, I still want to go for a ride in the new and improved school bus; to stop my hoses from blowing off I spray the inside of the hose with cheap hair spray and tighten the hose clamps to 7 Newton-meters and even at 22-24 psi of boost none have come off. Mike reminded me of the rotors (sorry, the rain has slowed my brain) and I'll bring them to office on Monday. Keep it over a 100 at all times.

What up guys, Thus far I have Vishnu's Stage 1++ and I experienced this same problem where the rubber hose leading in to the throttle body popped off... once under hard boost, the second time it happened I was only at part throttle lightly accelerating.... and then boom.... car dies and I find the hose popped off again at 5am no less on my way to work.... well any way Calvin over at Vishnu recommended for me to go to turbo hoses in San Ramon, CA to ask for help....Hoover helped me greatly and mocked up a prototype hard pipe to use in place of that p.o.s. rubber hose... he also used silicone sleeves and heavy duty clamps to connect everything together.... I've ran my car pretty hard over the last couple of days, testing the new pipe to see if it would come off and so far everything is great.... but I strongly reccomend Hoover and his company turbo hose's ... here's some contact info just in case you'd want to contact him or inquire about his products....

IE Evo - had the same thing happen to me, but obviously not that level of power. Just a loose clamp. You are lucky you didn't get into an accident. When mine blew, I was merging onto the interstate at night in the rain at 75mph and I heard a loud pop and the car went dead. I could barely steer the car. All I saw was headlights bearing down on me. I was lucky enough to coast accross 4 lanes of traffic and not get hit! Scary as hell!
