Shiv my Evo Blew
Well it was boostin about 27psi and the WRX guy that was riding shotgun had already soiled his panties and then all of the sudden POp no power. Well upon further inspection you need to work on your tuning because this is the 2nd Evo that you have tuned that has had this problem. Well Smogbreath came to the rescue and drove the WRX kiddies back to their ride and they gave me a flashlight to inspect the car.Thanx guys!Especially Smoggy for coming to our rescue. Hope Evowife forgives me and you. So upon inspection it was very apparent that all that untuned boost definitely blew something and in fact it did. Blew an intake hose connector clean off with the upgraded clamps. For all you Shiv haters sorry this is not bad news so go somewhere else. I guess for now my injecters are sufficient. JKJK Where is my stupid flashlight?

p.s.-I've also driven a 500rwhp SS, so I know what power feels like....albeit, different kinds of hp.

I noticed last spring that when I upgraded all of my hose clamps to Breeze t-bolt clamps that my coupling to the throttle body kept on blowing off. No matter how much I torqued that little bastard down, it would blow off after about 3 full boost runs. After examining the situation it seemed as though the t-bolt clamp was too wide to snug up to the little raised lip on the throttle body. I replaced it with the stock hose clamp that was the proper width to catch the retaining lip and haven't had the problem in about a year now.

At least it popped off, I hate it when one is leaking and you know its leaking but can't figure out why...free **** pops up on HBO and and Im sitting there trying to figure what it could be and could care less about the ****.
Just a suggestion... next time you put the hose on, clean the mating surface and the inside of the hose, then spray some hairspray on the inside of the hose. The hairspray will act as a lube when you slide the hose on, and when it dries it acts like a low strength adhesive. I did it on every intercooler hose and I've never had one blow off, and this is with the stock POS clamps. This is what we used to do with bike grips when I was a mechanic, made them real easy to get on and they'd never fall off. Just a suggestion, it might help your problems. BTW... nice job with the **** inducing run....

haha, havent had that happen but not long after getting tuned my car would only boost around 10-12psi. I was like WTF. Was going down the interstate and didnt know what was up. Looked under the hood and couldnt see anything. Well i finally found it. I blew a hose of my intake manifold. Not one of the big ones, but one of the little ones.
