Xede vs. Xflash...Which Puts Out More Power?
Xede vs. Xflash...Which Puts Out More Power?
Im interested in either the Xede or Xflash
which one puts out more power on the 05's?
my car is stock...might have a Vishnu DP when I get EM
what can I expect with either one?
and with the Xede...in cold weather climates....would it have to be retuned in the winter or would the stock ECU compensate for that?
TIA

Both put out about the same power.
Neither need retunes for weather, but you might have to go in on an Xede and turn down the boost a smidge if you do overboost to extreme levels (not all that common).

The Xede starts to show more gains when you flip the switch to the 100 octane map and gain a ton of HP
The Xede's two maps and not having to reflash your ECU for every new mod are its two strongest points.

At every dyno day I've been to, the XEDE puts out more power than an Xflash. I've even seen custom tuned Xflash guys swap to custom tuned Xedes and pick up power. The Xflash is probably the best reflash out there IMO, but the XEDE has a lot more versatility and can literally be manipulated on the fly.
so in the long run the Xede will be more cost effective since I dont have to get a new reflash with every new mod I put in, whereas the Xede I can manipulate it myself via laptop or I can download maps off the Vishnu site to adjust for each new mod and then when I get to a point where Ill stop modding for a while I can get it custom tuned by the man himself
hmmm if thats the case I think the Xede would be better for me

Both Xede and Xflash maped vehicles yield the same gains. Deciding on which one to get for your car is based on user needs. If you have no desire to tune/switch maps on your car, then an Xflash would be more cost effective.

so if I get the Xflash all other relfashes are free huh?

well Im thinkin just get a reflash on a stock 05 EVO
then throw on ur turbo back later on
which would be better in terms of power?
off the shelf maps or custom tuned flash?

unless you're with WORKS

A common misconception is that there are extreme car-to-car to variances in the EVO’s power delivery. While it is true that minor variances exist from one car to the next for all makes and models of cars, our analysis indicates that the more dramatic spread in power ratings seen in the EVO community are attributable to dyno-to-dyno variances caused by environmental effects (dyno setup, altitude, weather, fuel). The EVO’s ECU relies on many sensors to continually monitor air volume, air intake temperature, knock, coolant temperature, throttle position, fuel temperature, and other criteria that it uses to continually adjust the engine’s performance. We have seen slight variations in these sensor readings cause dramatic variations in performance on the dyno.

yes, but don't forget about the down time and shipping costs to send your ECU off.
there is no equity in a flash, as in, you can't sell it if you decide to part out your car or sell the car. just thought id mention that.
im sure the vishnu guys don't really care which one you get, but they will take care of you either way.
