I just got a laptop from here at work with a serial port (since my USB adapter sucked on the other), and just put windows XP on it. My XEDE is still running the v2 or whatever it is, not the new v3. Which would be the better Xmap to put on my laptop to use with my XEDE? ive got Xmap v2.0.1.1 and both v3.0.2.9 downloaded and ready to install, but wish should I use with my XEDE??

 

oh btw, i dont plan to upgrade my XEDE to v3 myself...I dont know if i feel comfortable with losing my custom tune, so Ill probably just wait til shiv comes back to Dyno4mance again and let him do it and get tuned all at the same time.

 

I use XMap v2.01.1 to upload maps to my Xede( v2 ) just fine. Haven't used XMap v3.0.2.9 though.

 

yeah thats what i think imma load on my laptop until Shiv's next round to Dyno4mance.

 

Maybe by then the Xede v3 firmware won't be 'beta' anymore!

You cannot use XMap3 with a V2 XEDE, it won't work.

 

yeah you have to match it up.. the problem i had is that my old laptop wouldnt run the v3 program... so i had to enlist Dustin's help.

 

Look at the sticky posted by Shiv. It looks like it is pretty easy to convert your V2 map. If you're not comfy doing it yourself, Andrew could probably convert it for you...
