Anyone Running MBC WIth A Stage 1+

Is anyone running a MBC with a stage 1+, I've been pondering the idea so that maybe for certain times when I want to hold the boost through the rpm range with no taper. Also what is the safest limit as far as the boost for 93. 21 is what I've read.

Thanks in advance.

Do a small search as smogi tried that couple weeks ago and his engine blew. No one knows the real factor but what he did is added the MBC and raised the boost a bit. Stock lines can’t hold boost as much as the MBC but that’s not what smogi have experienced. You might want to pm him.

I've been doing that for a long time, and now I have switched to a ebc. But I only have xflash custome tuned with boost set to 1.4-1.5bar.

Quick question- I thought with Vishnu the boost was controlled electronically? Or is that not possible with Xflash like I saw in your sig?

In other words I thought the MBC was somewhat pointless with Xede. In fact, I have a Hallman Pro RX brand new unopened for sale that arrived just before my Xede was installed.

Thanks

Don't do it. At least that is our suggestion.

You don't need a MBC w/ the XEDE.

Don't Smoggyflash/Smoggyspec ur car. It can be costly and slower in the end.

The xflash or exede has boost control functions built in. Even with an mbc you will still see taper. the stock turbo struggles to keep up. you paid for the x flash so you should take advantage of what it offers. There is a risk that adding the mbc could cause your car to run outside what it was tuned for and trouble could arise.

now on to smoggies car. the mbc did not cause the car to die. the engine was damaged by a spark plug that failed. the center of the plug cracked in half and the piece fell into the combustion chamber. on the next rotation this piece wedged itself between the piston and the head cracking the piston and gauging the cylinder head. how do i know this? because i dissasembled smoggies motor. i have never seen a sparkplug fail like this before. the electrode itself was in working order and the other three cylinders are perfect. draw what conclusion you may but the only hard facts point to a freak failure. if anybody has ever seen this before please chime in.

Thats what I needed to hear, thats the end of that. Just pondering. I had both the Xede and now have X-Flash the car runs good, but there is always potential to be better. We have a 550WHP cobra and his buddies hunting Evos, and imports on the weekends. I guess we'll have to do the Stage 3 upgrade and shut him up. Thanks for the input.

im running MBC the whole time on my car and i have xede/xflash, but havent got the XEDE hooked up to control boost yet. I havent bothered with it, I probably let Andrew or Shiv help me hook it up one time in the future, but I have no complaints. Ive been running the XEDE since Oct with it, and the MBC was one of the first things i got.

My friend had a spark plug failure jusk like smoggies evo did. That really sucks. Smoggies car would be the secound one I know of now so you all don't panic.
