We have seen 2 or 3 pumps fail, but that generally causes the car not to run all together.

Maybe the new SMART system will cure some of this? Rather then just help the highest output of the engine Shiv said that it drasticly helps the part throttle drivability. Sounds like the right direction anyway...

I am sure it could be feul cut, although no one really knows whats in my ecu due to a theft, the body shop *claimed* they replaced it. I had the old ecu flashed for boost and feul cut.

except mine doesnt do it in 5th gear @ 15% throttle. Your problem is different than mine.....I dont get that severe banging that you describe, mine just hesitates and stumbles like crazy. This is under PT as well as WOT in 2-4 gears.....but mostly WOT and it only happens from time to time. When I feel the car hesitate at PT, I just let off the gas & then shift. I have no idea why it only happens sometimes.

I get it all the time too. What I think the problem is the DV. I have a Forge also, and ever since I put that thing on I have been experiencing the same problem. It only happens when accelarating slowly, then once you get into boost if you back off the gas it seems to happen. I was thinking of putting on the stock DV back on but have just been too lazy. Now I just floor the car everywhere, problem solved

This is a little OT, but it was mentioned on the 1st page by prodrive121:

Someone enlighten me as to this idle blip associated with metered air problems. I thought I was having the same problem as prodrive121, but mine is more of a stumbling as the dreaded 0300 CEL comes on...BUT I have a idle blip that is driving me nuts...sounds like it's missing(ignition) its like 00000_000_000000000_00_00000 where the 0 is idling and the _ is where it drops out.

did any of that make any sense?

What is your XEDE MAF bypass %?

What does fuel pressure look like when the stumble happens?

Why overlook that the fact the Xede could be bad.???

Find somebody in your area with a good xede and swap....simple and fast.

That way you rule out a Xede hardware problem.

When I had a nasty not-to-be-named BOV/BPV installed it got the stumbling and part throttle/light lift. Not quite what you're describing. But it was obvious something was wrong with the vacuum (my analysis, anyway). Borrow the BOV/BPV of someone who doesn't have the problem - swap with them for the day ... *Shrug*

Good luck!
