Part throttle Driveability issues Xede/stage 1(fixed by tuning technologies)

Read last two posts but the Xede wasn't the issue it was mechanical thumbs up to full operation back and getting to enjoy the power that I purchase from V.

I looked but haven't seen this issue listed:

When crusing at normal freeway speed in my Evo 65-80 in 5th gear (2800-3500rpm) I have developed a nasty issue.

Rather frequently the car will thud, the best way to describe this is for those of you who had a WRX when you bang out a shift and the rear diff slaps its the same noise/feeling. For non-former Wrx owners the car feels like it misses picks power back up and the drivetrain slop is caught creating a short shake and then a thud.

The issue is the car doesn't miss, car doesnt throw codes, no back fire, no discrenable loss of power before or after the event. Has Happened on multiple feul brands and on several tanks of gas. Doesnt happen at more that 15% throttle in the same rpm range and gears.

Car Has Vishnu Stage 1 with 31k miles on the car and 6 on stage 1. I have re-uploaded the maps to make sure they are correct. I do not have the V3 yet and this issue has only presented itself for the past 1000 miles.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dave

How long has this been happening to you?

My boost gauge is busted what does yours do when this occurs?

Take it to Tuning Technologies and have them diagnose it. Probably something simple.

I think it is probably a ground issue, but i haven't had time to more the ground yet.

I'll clean my grounds up and see what that does, once I'm back from vacation I'll have the shop look at it.

Cleaned up grounds, added extra ground wire.

Nothing changed, now capable of recreating the issue in fourth gear as well.

Mine does pretty much the same thing ... only happens at partial throttle between 2500 and 3000rpms, if I suddenly lift off the gas the car will buck. If I don't lift off the gas, or if I'm at higher rpms, then it never happens. I've basically learned to live with it by being more careful with my right foot while driving at partial throttle in heavy traffic (either that or I downshift one gear to bump the rpms over 3000).

Same exact **** happens to me and im getting really sick of it.

Its actually really dangerous. When i first got my evo Driving through the canyons the one thing i always loved about the car was the chassis being so solid.

On throttle off throttle.......the car just stayed planted.

After two years and 35,000 miles and going from stock to stage 3 to back to stage 1 plus, my car has seen alot of hard driving and up to 400 whp.

The shaking gets pretty ruf sometimes when i get off the throttle quickly and it really throws the cars balance off. Confidence has been reduced because of this also.....now what can i do?????

I have the weapon r damper sitting right here but after i heard about the bracket cracking i dont want to install it until they send me the updated more sloid bracket.

I also was thinking about upgrading the motor mounts to something more solid.

Any other thoughts would really help as my evo just shakes and jitters getting off the throttle.

Back from vacation and starting to think this maybe a metered air issue, anyone else want to confirm that or call me stupid. I do have the idle blip now that is sometimes associated with a metered air issue.

I would go through and check for boost leaks. Something mechanical has to be going on if you haven't changed any of the hardware or software, and the problem just started happening.

Ok still trying to shake this down, I can tell you that it isn't:

Boost leak
Mettered Air issue
Damaged MAF
Ground Issue
Bad plugs/wires/coils
Xede map issue

Any chance this is from a ****ty walbro that does want to work on the basic relay but gets enough juice when the resistor (or what ever its called) is over riden? I suspect this becuae the pump now howls like a banshee and this issue only occurs at light throttle/idle situations where the pump would be running on lower poewer.
