V3 & datalogging???

It was annonced a while back that the V3 update will come with full datalogging function.

Is it going to be available cuz I don't see any datalogging function with the current V3... (Beta version maybe???)

There is some datalogging available through the v3 xmap software. It's listed in one of the drop down menus on the main screen. It's only active when a specific check-box is checked on a feature page, and the log is captured as a file.

I've been working with it some to try and detect pulled timing and knock, but the values it logs seem to be based on the XEDE's signal to the ECU as opposed to the ECU's final output values. While that makes sense, it limits the usefullness of logging those values.

I wonder if it would be possible to log the difference between the XEDE and ECU timing values - then if there were discrepencies between the logged values and the values in my maps at a given RPM, I'd have an indication of the ECU making timing changes.

The super jammy logging software for v3 is actually independant of XMAP v3. It's a whole new program called COMMSlog. This is the program that samples 100 times/sec. It is currently being configured to spit a log file right into a 3rd party full datalog analysis program. Road dyno, customized graphing, data plots, etc,. This should be ready to go within 3-4 weeks. Right now, it works great, but we need to tweak the .txt log files to be accepted by the datalog analysis program.

What 3rd party software is this?

If you were to say something like "DataLogLab", I'll be very happy.

I sent an e-mail to Glenn a long time ago, asking if he would consider adding the Xede datalogs to his program's bag of tricks. I used DataLogLab when I had a UTEC on my own car (and previous car), and I still use it when tuning other Subarus... but now it will be cool to use his program again with my car in its current state (reflash + Xede).
