The clutch would slip on launch.....I used to be able to spin the fronts on a good launch, now it just holds the revs when my foot is off the clutch. I know how to drive, dont kid yourself. If I dont slip @ high enough revs, it will bog.

Yes, the car "was" QUICKER stockish than both the COBB & Xede at the track. On the street however, my Shiv tuned XEDE is so much fastar its not even funny. Everytime I get off the fwy and gun it, its f'in awesome. If I could drive straight up to the staging lanes after 5-10min of driving then run, I would be willing to bet anyone that I could pull at least a 13.3 @ 100+mph.....there is no doubt in my mind.

I think your just mad cause you're getting passed by subies also....go check nasioc.com.....you are getting even farthar down on the food chain.

my auto gsx ran a waaayy faster time & trap at fontana with minor mods and a crappier launch (2800rpm 1.99 60')... then passed smog a few days later

just get a bigger turbo, and it'll cure your problems.

If youre having wheelspin troubles, you might want to consider running a street tire next time. I run the Ra-1's daily too, but they take a bit of time to warm up and grip the way they should. But at the strip, it doesn't seem like you get an opportunity to warm them up

Guys I have to give Drew crap. He insists that I can't drive when I could not do any better than 11.6 at 122 with stock open diff, tranny that locked up on me at the track after two runs, and a track that is nortorious for being slower than most. And as far as being down on the food chain against Subies that is cool. Nothing wrong with a lil competition. It's about time the Subies catch up and MBGSTI will likely have his car done but I think Smoggy will have to step in and see if he can compete because I am done for now.

I know you can drive.....as you have done ~12.2 with the 1+....i just like to talk ish. I know that your car with the new lsd and tranny fixes will do very low 11's, like it should.

And i cant wait til smoggy car is done to see what that thing runs.

At the track, after i was dissapointed with my times, i was really thinking of doing a 'drewflash' but thought better of it.

It is all good Drew and do not do a Drew flash. Next time take ur car out to Fontucky on a cool night not a hot one. Also many a Suby has experienced the same thing that u have at the track(slow times). I agree with ur hypothesis that ur car is faster on the street for the reasons u posted. I remember a friend with a low 14 sec suby taking a 13 sec car out on the street after the races. Car seems to do better on the streets. STI guys complained about the same thing. Heck my car runs better at the private track days also. Waiting in line sucks and I think other exhaust and tire smoke in the intake before u run is not a good thing. Plus runnin it down the track and hotlapping back seems to be optimal for my car.

Yeah, I think if I could drive straight up to the line.....without waiting for others I would run the times I should.

So, on a private track day, you can run, then go immediately to the front again? or do you have to wait for only about 10-20 cars?

Another thing.....trap speeds really suck for the WRX due to the 3-4 up-shift or no up-shift....as redline in 3rd gear is 95-96mph.

FWIW, my first trip to the drag strip was back in '96 in my supercharged Miata. It ran a 13.8 at 103mph with a 2.2x 60' time. I've been back to the drag strip maybe 3-4 times since then
