I hate the 1/4 mile (Fontana)

So, I went back to the track with my new found XEDE power and mustered a lackluster 14.0 @ 98 mph. My best 1/8 mile was 9.0. I have numerous 8.8's with the stock ECU w/mbc and with the COBB AP map.....hell, I have a ton of 9.0's with just a catback and pullies. I have come to the conclusion that my clutch is going - and on its last leg because my best 60ft was 1.948, with 3 other 2.0's.....seeing as how my clutch has 72,000 miles on it, and about 100+ launches.

Also, as with the AP's 1/4 times and XEDE's.....at the track, boost would only spike to maybe 15psi, then lower to & hold only 13-14psi. As soon as I left the track and got some airflow through the intercooler, boost was back up to normal (spiking to 17psi and settling down to 15-16psi. I even rigged a ghetto IC sprayer/hose setup to fight the increasing heatsoak, but to no avail. I even put in 6 gals of 100oct to see if that would help the heatsoak issue and let the ecu keep the boost up.....but nope, just waisted $30.

I was planning on the v350 kit, but I think thats going to half to wait for a bigger FMIC or TMIC.

I have a best of 1.84 with turboback, etc. (done about 3 months after I bought it) & 1.90 when I was "stock" - only catback and a pulley. The 1.90 was about a month after I bought the car.

My best "stock" is:

60ft - 1.90
330 - 5.77
1/8 - 9.00
mph - 75.84
1000 - 11.78
1/4 -14.12
mph - 94.62

Best run w/ Xede:

60 - 2.05
330 - 5.86
1/8 - 9.03
mph - 78.78
1000 - 11.74
1/4 - 14.04
mph - 98.04

I just wish my car was an EVO...then I could run in the 13s or even 12s. Maybe I should try launching with two feet? I have been trying to hit the gas and clutch with my right foot...

You can do the Fred Flintstone style launch with using both feet...can make low 12s I heard.

What were the trap speeds with the stock or Cobb ECUs? Are they higher now? And what were temp conditions when you tested them?

And u talk about my driving skills. My bad 60 fts are from too much wheelspin what is ur excuse. Can't be too much wheelspin at ur power level and ur Mph proves that ur drivin skills have deterorated keepin u out the 13s. Pay backs a biiiaaatccch. Let me drive it Drew and I will get it into the 13s. U suk.

it was hot a h ell Sa-tard-day Shiv and yes his traps appear 4+ mph better than his previous best. If I remember correctly his car was faster stockish or pre Cobb It was not ur tune that failed him but the tard behind the wheel. It was Tard day though so Drew got to run free. Drew u suk!

Trap speeds on the stock ecu W/MBC @ 15-16psi were 96-97mph....(1/8 mile was 77-78.72 mph) temps were mid to upper 80s in Sept. This is also when I had a best 1/8 mile of 8.86.....which I contribute to the 10+ runs I got in that day.

Best on the COBB was 95-96mph in 60-70 degree weather....et's were 13.8-13.9.

My only 4 passes on w/the Xede are from 96-98mph....temps prob. mid 80s. Some runs I shifted into 4th....cant remember which ones though.

I really think the heatsoak is a huge problem, thats why I tried a home-made IC sprayer (which will be hooked up the "right" way next time). Boost with the COBB & Xede were all spiking to a MAX of 14psi. With the stock ecu & MBC, boost would also go straight to 15-16psi and hold as long as possible.
