not holding boost

Shiv,

MY car doesn't seem to be holding much boost on the 100 octane map.

Im running a Stage 1++ with the TME, and 280 cams, and a MR BOV.

In any other gear but fifth, i can't seem to hold past 21psi of boost (using the Xede).

Any ideas / suggestions?

Could my MR BOV be leaking?

it wasnt leaking before with ur forge correct? how many psi are you boosting on race gas.. 25 or so? i dont think the mr bov is rated to hold that high.

i never had a forged. it was stock, then the MR BOV. In fifth gear, yeah, it holds about 25 psi of boost.

thats why i can't tell if the decrease in boost is b/c of the bov or the turbo itself. it obviously can hold 25 psi for at least a few seconds

are you running the Forge?

yeah.. it has some healthy compressor surge at partial throttle.. but it holds lots of boost with the red spring.

Could it be the wastegate causing the issue.

I have a similar problem and cant seem to find any help.

When I downloaded the stage 1 map from vishnu boost would fly to 25lbs!!!!

So i lowered the values in the boost table to the low 30's and it was boosting 23-23.5 psi and then dropping to around 19-18 psi.

So I lowered it some more and now it boosts 21 psi and drops to around 17.

why does it drop so much when I finally achieve a safe boost level?????

Could this be a leak somewhere????

you might not have enuff fuel to keep up at that boost, your octane isn't high enuff, it's getting hotter outside (summer coming), your flash isn't working that well, your ecu is pulling timing to keep you from blowing up, OR a combo of some or all the above.

i was thinking . . .

the boost tables are all turned to 100% for both the 91 and 100 octane maps

how does it make more boost on one map versus the other?

Is that so. Sounds like a mistake to me but I do not know. Shiv needs to chime in soon because this boost table at 100 % on 91 makes lil sense to me. As far as holding boost u need to refer to Smoggy Flash and ask him how he attempted to rectify this problem. It is quite normal for the boost to spike and taper on the stock turbo. Nothing is wrong with ur car. If u want something to be wrong with ur car get a boost controller and try and make it hold boost till redline. After a couple of runs u can build ur motor and stroke it and buy a GT 35r kit.

Well obviously I dont want the motor to blow up!!!!

But it would be nice to hold just a bit more then 17 lbs .......especially when we all know that can be done safely

And yes Shiv does need to chime in soon.....

Alex do you have a bleeder? With the hotside, and the cams, your boost table will most likely look quite a bit different than a normal stage 1+.
