Oil Pressure warning light.

I purchased my evo 8 with the Vishnu stage 3 package (not knowing). The dealership didnt tell me what was on the car. So long story short I have the adjustable cam gears and xede cpu sitting in a box. But I still have the signature exhaust which sounds awesome. I also have omori gauges and the oil pressure one is showing the warning light when I am at idle. Other then that oil pressure is fine while driving. But as soon as I stop at a light it comes on, it has almost stalled me out a couple of times. It reads about 10 lbs at idle tehn it drops and thats when the light comes on. What could be causing this problem and how do I get it fixed? Dealership or tuner shop?

Since you bought the car from the dealer I'd take it to them and tell them to fix it. I'd cause hell if you get any BS from them. You bought the car without knowing the parts were on your car and they didn't tell you. Their fault.

Sounds like you are fine to me. Omori gauges have adjustable red lights, so yours is coming on at idle because it either needs to be adjusted or you need to live with it.

Evo's are stall prone to begin with. Seeing you are in vegas, my guess is that your AC is on. When my Evo was bone stock, it stalled two separate times under these conditions. Welcome to the club.

You should slap that Xede on or sell it. You can get either a lot of power from it or a lot of cash.

Cool

my omori gauges are the same also. i have the bigger gauges and love em. yeah the colors are kewl also. the warning light is normal. the normal psi at idle is this directly from the evo manual "STANDARD VALUE: at idle-29kPa(4.2psi or more). at 3500 r/min 294-686(43-100psi)" i started a thread about it here-https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/showthread.php?t=125463 so not to worry... i like the fact i have accuracy, reliablility, consistancy, color options, and not everyone has them like the Defi gauges. AND they are in SAE not metric.

Well if its normal then thats cool. No my A/C wasnt on I drive with the windows down, its hot as hell, but better then looking like an idiot with a stalled car in the middle of the lane. I looked at the vishnu website, and I thought that ti was the stage three kit, but obviously not. I guess that an 11 second club member would no better then I would. Anyways thanks for those that had something important to say.

Everyone Has Something Important To Say But Sometimes You Might Have To Listen (read) More Closely Than You Would Have To Do At Other Times In Order To Find Out What The Important Thing Is Anyway The Important Thing Is Your Gage Is Pretty Normal Situatoin

I'd definitely install the XEDE. Your stalling issue could be caused by an aftermarket BOV and/or your cams. If I was in your shoes, I'd try to find out which set of cams are in the car. Should they turn out to be HKS 272 cams, then setting your adjustable cam gears to -4/-1 will probably take care of any idling issues (hello A/C ). If you have the time, I'd even take a drive out to Vishnu and have them put the car onto a dyno and tune a custom map for your XEDE. Lastly, if you are going to take the car to a local "tuner" shop, make sure to research them before you have them work on your car...
