The nice thing about it, is it can adapt to unforseen environments taking advantage or precaution depending on the scenario an engine might see. And this technology isn't just for the Evo.
You could see how excited he was about it. He went through the basics of Xede theory, how SMART works, how maps in the Xede interact why the wide band o2 sensor is such a powerful tool, etc... . He's doing stuff that even ChipTorque hasn't thought of.
Was it necessary for SMART users, no. It was a rare lifetime experience though because Shiv is so busy and he is the axis around which the product revolves. So thanks Tom for creating a harmonic convergence of sorts.
Well for me it was money well spent. I had Shiv, Chris, Alfred, Dustin, Calvin and Isaac all there to make sure my car made it through the dyno ok and I got to meet some of the members of Socalevo and evom. While Shiv was talking, Dustin was methodically wiring up the car, and Alfred and Chris were methodically going through their check lists.
The one message that really came through enthusiatically was that this is probably a fork in the road in the tuning industry.
A few years from now there will be some very interesting off shoots of this technology. Shiv was saying the options are pretty much limited to the types of sensors you can use for feed back; endless.
If Nor Cal wants one, you'll have to find a Smogrunner clone I would presume.
I should also mention, David from Vishnu moved the stage 2 adapter kit along and so far looks like it will live up to it's billing. It's relatively quiet, too. Thanks David!
