Running stock boost controll with xede?

I have an 03 runing the V2 software, and a subzero map. I have a 3in muffler and a 2.5in testpipe installed. If I disconect the boost controll from the xede and go back to the factory boost control will there be any ill effects to my car?

The reason I am asking is that having the boost controled by the xede puts my in a faster autox class, I want to get into a slower class where I have a better chance of wining.

Thanks for any replies

You could also create another map and just drop the boost. That way you wouldn't need to connnect and disconnect it everytime. I would just drop the boost. Are you using both banks of the Xede now?

If you reinstall the restriction pill, then you should be able to disconnect the Xede boost control without any problems. If you are going to run in the street turing scca class, this is very desirable.

If you're not trying to be nationally competitive, your region might let you get away with a stock-like boost curve. I have a map that was built just for that reason. It operates MAF/CAS
as a passthrough (-0.01 in all the cells) and the boost values are set to match the stock settings.

It should, although you should get verification from shiv or somebody else at vishnu. Remember that the first generation evo xede didn't even have a boost control feature.

As I recall if you put 80% in all cells you will have a stock curve as if the boost pill was reinstalled.

Sorry to bring this back form the dead, but I want to run stock boost and zero out my timing and fuel maps. I want to do some testing for some articles that I want to write for a magazine and I want stock tuning.

Is the above mentioned statement correct? If not, then how can I get stock boost w/o disconnecting the xede? I am willing to put back the pill in the vaccuum line.

Technically you can't. Removing the restrictor pill is a mechanical change and the sysem won't behave _exactly_ as stock. If you want to be scientific, you have to put the pill back in and unplug the Xede boost control line.

If you want something that just behaves very close to stock, then yes. Zero out the timing, smart timing, smart fuel, and MAF maps. Set the boost map to the 80-85 range and that should be pretty close to stock for an Evo8.

Note: this is not legal for the STU and AS classes in SCCA. The Xede boost control must be unplugged.

Thanks donour. One more question: Should I put the restrictor pill back in when I set the boost table to 80-85?

No. There's no reason to do that if you have the Xede controlling boost. For the 03/04 cars. Boost peaks at about 19 and bleeds to ~17 by redline. %80 duty cycle should be around that. Adjust up or down if the boost is off.
