If I am understanding this correctly, when you have the map that includes launch control active on your XEDE, then it is ON (all the time) ... if you load a map that does not have launch control, then it's off.

Also, to clarify, am I correct in thinking that launch control = NLTS (no lift to shift ... aka NL2S), as in they both use the same map?

No....it makes it a particular RPM when the clutch switch is engaged.

Otherwise when the clutch switch is not being used the normal redline applies.

I cannot post my XM3 file to be modified.....invalid file type.....I suggest you just post instructions on how to add it ourselves.

you have to zip it up and attach it to your post.

and can we use the boot wire that we have for the clutch after we are done with the v3 firmware upgrade?(assuming i can ever get mine to work)

Do we need the SMART add on for the launch control to work?

you don't have to have the SMART...but you do have to have the smart maps...you just have to modify them because you don't have the rest of the crap that comes with smart.

When launch control is active... sometimes when my foot is totally off the clutch pedal and the car is in neutral, the RPM's take a while to come all the way down. It seems to hang a bit around 4000. Is this normal? This also happens when the clutch is fully depressed the car with stagger around 4000 then slowly and I mean SLOWLY fall down. This started happening after I installed launch control. Other than this the car runs like a bat out of hell. The launch control settings have not been changed from the template.

maybe the thing shiv was talking about where the RPM catchup increase for launch control will help this problem??

The whole Launch Control / No Lift Shift feature I was always a bit skeptical of how it worked till I actually tried it out. I love having instant boost on launches and between shifts, but when you have to downshift to slow down the staggering of the RPMs gets in the way. The RPMs should just fall like normal instead of SLOWLY falling down.
