XEDE table question

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but ... here's the scenario:

I have a built 2.0l block that I intend to rev to 9000rpms. I had originally sent my ECU to Vishnu to have it scaled for 780cc injectors and a 9200rpm fuel cut. So today Martin at AMS and I were working on my car and Martin told me that he was hitting fuel cut at 8000 rpms, which in turn set me off, thinking that my ECU hadn't been flashed correctly.

However ... during the tuning session it hits me ...

If all the tables in XMap are only setup to go to 8000rpms, then the XEDE cuts fuel at 8000 rpms, correct? Do we therefore need to rescale all of the tables to go to 9200 rpms?

Any help would be appreciated...

PS: sorry for the grumpy phone call Isaac ... hopefully this was just me being a dumba$$.

The XEDE just offsets the values. If the table stops at 8000rpm, then after that, their are no offsets and only ECU values. An interesting question would be to know if the stock ECU has values for anything over 8000rpm.

Of course, I could be wrong.

You need to reconfigure your RPM points to go into that RPM range. However, with xmap 3.2, users arent allowed to edit maps, so the flow of the smart logic can't be tampered with. Send an email to shiv@vishnutuning.com to have him rescale the tables.

You could probably rescale in an old version then import the maps.

nope. you have to fill the v3.2 maps with your v2 data. can't just open a v2 map.

In the help file for V2 and V3, it says that the maximum RPM is 8000:
"RPM axis points are in rpm rounded to 100rpm, e.g., 5185rpm will be rounded to 5100rpm. Maximum is 8000rpm."

Has this 8000rpm limit already been addressed in the latest firmware?

Is that a hard lockout, or do I only have to guess the password?

Ooook, so after spending 3 hours at AMS today trying to get my car tuned, I've learned the following things:
1.) SMART XMAP is useless for me, since I cannot edit the tables
2.) I was hitting an 8000 rpm redline because my ECU was reflashed to 8000 rpms, not 9200
3.) with non-SMART v3 loaded, the car still idles like a$$, although it did get better after we made some adjustments while talking with Shiv and after Martin pulled 15% fuel.
4.) With v3 the car is not making consistent dyno pulls (seems to be +/- 15whp), v2 was more consistent.
5.) Looks like I'm going to really NEED a midwest dyno day to get my beastie fully tuned

Would xedeflash for injector scaling and rev limit be needed to make it all work like on stage 2-3 setups?

I didn't say anything until now but I think what Shiv did to lock out functionality on V3.2 of Xmap is simply wrong. He was trying to keep people from messing things up, but in fact now he has people manually copying data from older maps to the new templates. An error prone procedure. If someone gets a sign wrong and doesn't check the graph there can be serious engine damage.

I converted one map and have less than zero interest in doing another until such time that an import map function is restored to the software.

What should be done is to implement a new level of map password protection such that the structure of the template is locked. On the other hand if the user wants to build his own from scratch then he should be allowed to.

(End of rant)
