Do you get any drone while cruising on the freeway?

Thanks,
Joe

If you want to keep the noise level down get a catback that has resonators. I know the Apexi N1 has 2 in the catback alone. Its incredibly quiet, the complete opposite of my Helix

Apexi

Looked at the Apexi N1, but it is made of mild steel. Yes, it is ceramic coated, but I'd prefer stainless.

I have the Megan cat-back with the Helix down pipe & test pipe. With the silencer out of the Megan at idle it's not too loud at all, w/the silencer installed it is almost at stock noise levels. At WOT w/no silencer the Megan screams but it's a very nice sounding scream! It's really nice for everyday driving, I get no looks from the Police at all, even when driving right next to them. One really nice thing about the Megan is there is absolutely no drone what so ever(price is great too). Zeus sells the Megans and He and I went out and took decibel readings on the Megan, you can pm him if your interested in those. Hope this helps ya!
PS-Love your helpful website!!

Catback

After way too much research, I finally decided on the Greddy Evo2 catback. I installed it last night with the help of a friend. So far I'm very pleased. The system is only about 3lbs lighter than stock - I had hoped for more. Installation was very easy. Sound at idle is louder than stock but not by too much. At full acceleration, the exhaust is only slightly louder than stock. It does sound meaner though. On the freeway, I noticed no booming or resonance at any sustained speed up to 90mph.

I will be taking my car back to Vishnu for another run on the dyno to get final #'s and Xflash tuning. The car does feel significantly stronger up top. The engine pulls hard to redline, something it never did before.

Lastly, the muffler is tucked up into the area behind the rear bumper, similar to stock. This doesn't draw much attention like some aftermarket exhausts. The end tip is about an inch larger in diameter than stock, something I'm not too excited about, but it doesn't look ridiculously large.

Overall I'm very pleased with this system. More power, a more aggressive sound, barely louder than stock, no freeway drone, and reasonably priced - just over $500 shipped. I'll post one last time after the final dyno tune.

Later,
Joe

BTW to add to Joe's comments... the catback is really easy to install. I know this because since Joe is severely handicapped .. and even because of this.. it only took him 3 hours. Greddy's fitment is a true testament to handicapped user friendliness...

I have huge sunburn blisters on my arms and legs at the moment. Thanks, dickweed.

The best part about it is that after swearing he was going to leave his MR stock, now that he's driven my car, he is changing his story! Get that credit card ready, Steve.
