What maps do I have to have values in, in order for the car to run? I'm starting from scratch on top of a custom flash. However, I can't even move the car over in the garage. The firmware up date seemed to go fine. Xmap3 opens up, and I can open the Map in the instructions. I entered my boost table and burned it. However, when I start the car, it idles roughly, at about 1400rpm. If I even barely touch the throttle it kills the car.

Problem is that I can't use staged maps as I'm on a custom flash tune...

Sounds like your MAF table isn't configured for Freq0 out. Post up your custom map here and we'll fix it.

^^^

I was going to say. It sound's like your MAP table is wrong. Another possibility is that the upload didn't finish correctly. This has happened to me on occasion. In addition to the behavior you describe, I also threw a MAF trouble code.

Christ! Hooked the laptop up this morning, and get a; your running a V2 Xede message. The firmware update seemed to take yesterday after a couple freaking hours of put your right finger on your nose, while extending your left foot, while sequencing the ignition on and off...

Well, that explains it... I wonder how far I can throw the Xede. I mean aerodynamically speaking. I'm thinking I could sail it at least a block or two.

After I cool off, I will attempt to update the firmware yet again tonight or tomorrow... wasn't there a less common way to do this without the "jumper wire" method?

Throw it? Its a simple file update man. If its not going right or its not for you thats one thing and I support you on that but honestly you havent exactly been supportive, accepting, or open minded about the simplest user tunable since the begining. So either way you decide you know Ill still support and respect you but I honestly dont feel you give near the understanding on this product as your know for on many others. Especially since you had your own ideas of how to use it.

I'm venting David... I even told you personally that I was doing good to use the internet. Notice I didn't say the product sucked, or was no good, or anything of that nature. I simply stated that I wanted to throw the damn thing a few blocks. Ever see a carb mechanic try to diagnose an EFI issue? I could probably free hand carve an engine block out of raw steel (did that on a few aircraft parts and other alloys), but key strokes are beyond me.

To clear the air, I'm not coming down on SMART or the XEDE. Fact is, I am a fish out of water in this area. The more I've read about user's experiences with the two products, the more interested, and excited I've become about using it. However, the problem lies in the simple fact that I have NO computer skills. So to all those looking in on this thread, this is a Zeus problem, and not a product problem... please be clear about that!

BTW David, where have you been? Josh and I where wondering if you had fallen off the planet...

are you using the correct version of xmap?? the 3.2 version??

if you open the old xmap v.3 with the smart firmware installed, it will tell you that you are running a v.2 Xede...i had this same problem, although i never started the car until i got it resolved so Im not sure if mine had the same symptoms as yours...but i uploaded the firmware a good 3 times getting the same v2 error message before i realized my problem

make sure you open up the XEDE folder on your computer and run the correct Xmap version...running the xmap placed on your desktop is the old version IIRC

Thanks, so for the computer dumbass (me), looks like I did use the wrong one in the update bundle: Xmap3 V3_0_2_9 and firmware update: V3203_SMART_Firmware.hex

Can someone link me to the proper file so I don't screw this up too?

I'm used to helping people, and not feeling so help-less. I think I may have just been pointed to the problem though. However, when you make it back to town, please swing by!
