Dynojet #'s for my Vishnu tuned GT3076
There was a guy on here who had problems with his crank. He was running alky and high boost on the stocker. He was in Atlanta I think. David Buschur also blew up his shop car's turbo on high boost. There's picks somewhere.
most people refer to drag racing.. im sure the stock turbo will last quite a few 1/4 mile passes at 28 lbs.. but.. try doing that on a 20 min road course session.. see how long it lasts @ 28 lbs. The hot air will really take its toll at that point.
remember its not super hard to make the extra power.. but being able to drive it hard for prolonged periods of time is a big sacrifice to make for the extra hp.

If you look at the compressor map for the stock turbo, then you'll see that 28psi is way out of its efficiency plateau. At that kind of boost level you will be spinning it many thousands of rpms past its peak efficiency, generating a LOT of extra heat. Sooner or later that kind of abuse will take its toll ... ye takes yer chances and pays yer money.

375whp (dynojet) on 91oct gas is just fine and is as good as anyone can reasonably expect on a 3076. There *might* be 10whp more in there but not much more if you want repeatable numbers. Sure, you can cool the crap out of the IC, give a 10 minute cooldown, crank up the boost and put down one 400whp run. I've seen lot of tuners do that. But if you want repeatability and real world power, you gotta dial it back a couple of notches. Not as impressive when it comes to internet bragging rights. But it'll last and provide fun for a long time. On race gas, expect another 90-100whp with another 7psi of boost.

PS. The stock 03-04 turbo, in an otherwise similar set-up and tested similarly, would max out around 330-340whp. With maybe another 30whp running ***** out on race gas.

are these results on mustang dyno? also, how much more power would there be with the 3076r if you added alky injection(methanol)? would you recommend the 3076 as the best pump and alky turbo? i know most people on this board say its a waste, i was just wondering what your opinion is and which turbo would be the best for pump and alky in drag/street applications. i would also like to know about the 3071 in comparison to this.
