Dynojet #'s for my Vishnu tuned GT3076

A tuning shop in Portland just installed there new AWD Dynojet and I got in on there $35 for 3 runs deal. I did three runs in 3 minutes. The first two had a pick up problem and wouldn't graph correctly. The first run was 375hp. The final run got me a decent graph and final of 372hp/330tq. This was on 92 oct pump @ 23psi. The amazing part was the consistency of the numbers over 3 minutes w/ 2 little fans and my stock intercooler. A Cobra R lost 50hp from the first run to the last 3rd run. Of course, he threw down 491whp though on the first one. Another highlight of the day was a twin turbo, big block Chevy Camaro that threw down 1184hp/954tq. The guy even drove it to the dyno event .

All-in-all, it was fun.

good stuff man, those are hella good numbers, that's close to 440hp on a dynojet... question: which 3076 kit are you using? at what rpm do you find it beginning to build positive boost? thanx...

yeah good numbers......

One question kinda off topic. Was the dyno a 424x dynojet unit with two identical rollers or was one red (large 48 inch drum roller) and the other black (24 inch roller)?

My thoughts exactly.
I am not trying to knock your results but I have seen stock turbo Evo's make almost 400whp with 93 oct.

I'm not sure what model it was. The rollers looked to be the same. One section of platform was red and the front black. I think they retro-fitted there old 2 wheel drive unit. I know they had a hell of a time getting it to work correctly.

I am using my own GT3076 kit. I think I build positive boost around 3300rpm. I usually don't check that. I know I get 23psi of boost ~4300rpm.

Who? With only 93 oct and no alcohol injection?

There was a good reason behind me asking you this question. If I were you I would never put your evo back on that dyno. Reasons? OK.....The front dyno that is red....is an older 248x 2 wheel drive dyno. It has 48" drums that weigh about 4,000 lbs. The rear dyno is a 224x dyno....which is retrofitted to allow them to add on the awd function. This rear dyno roller only weighs 1900 lbs. So your front wheels are spinning double the weight of the rear.....this will wreak HAVOC on your diff. Do yourself a favor and find another dyno. Hope this helps and ,aybe saves you some grief in the long run.

its on 23 lbs of boost.. with no meth no alcohol on 92. thats not too bad. that turbo doesnt come into its own untill arround 28 lbs of boost. i wish you had dynoed on race gas to show the difference.

jj08... some people like to run stock turbos to 28 lbs of boost. thats not shiv's stlye as it wont last more than 1 session on a road course. You can make lots of power if you dont care about repeatability.

Thanks for the heads up . No need to damage the car in order to get higher numbers .

I have only used race gas once since I got tuned. 99.9% of the time I just run pump only. The only race gas numbers I got, were when Shiv tuned it and at only 26psi I made 40hp more (This was due to my weak wastegate spring setup). When I got the wastegate situation taken care of, I ran 30psi and it was like a missle. Probably around 60-80hp more then my pump gas. So my Dynojet #'s on race would probably be around ~440whp.

Yeah, I know. People tend to throw the guys running methanol injection into the pump gas numbers or even worse, a guy running race gas on the stock turbo at 28psi.

Another interesting note. Shiv actually made 20whp more on pump when he tuned my car, but detuned it 20whp due to poor quality of gas in the area. Probably in 93 oct states it could of been tuned for ~400whp (Dynojet #) on pump. According to Shiv, our 92oct isn't much better then 91oct.

I was more surprised about the repeatability of the results.

+1 on the comment about the different rollers.

Don't listen to the h8rz, those numbers seem to be in line with what one can reasonably expect from a bigger turbo on pump gas. If you get your paws on the dynojet run file, I can post a comparison to mine and Jaylenospoolboy's results.
